Peony Tea Time

Good morning,
Happy Monday. I hope you had a nice weekend. I was busy being an assistant to Sweetheart as he was installing our new French Door in our Master Bedroom...To see the new door and the inspiration for our update go here
The weather has been fabulous the past two weeks and since we have our house open and in construction I decided to take my tea time outside under the pomegranate tree, I found a beautiful Peony designed tea cup at an estate sale awhile back and  I've been waiting until my peonies bloomed to share the new tea cup and saucer with you.
The peonies are not red or pink. I tried to do some research on the web for maybe a match, but not luck.  When my mother was alive she had the most beautiful peonies blooming in the back yard. When she passed away I dug up some of the plants and brought them home. These are the blooms from my mother's plants. They are so beautiful. THANK YOU MOM!
I found the blooms do not last more than a day after cut. The little buds are going to be sweet when they open up in a day or two.

My tea cup is made in England by Hammersley and Co. The tea cup is completely covered inside with the design of peonies. The gold trim is lovely and the saucer has huge flowers, stems and leaves covering the entire saucer. I couldn't find our the pattern, but I would be interested to know if any of you tea cup lovers have an idea about the name of the tea cup and saucer.
I was at the thrift store a couple of months ago and found this little pitcher and tray. It has the grape motif just like the larger one. Now I have three pitchers. Bring on the bouquets.

I went outside about 3:00 o'clock to have a cup of tea and a cranberry and pecan muffin with lemon curd on top.  Delicious. I'm always ready for a break about three in the afternoon.

Cranberry and Pecan Muffins

Stir just until moistened. Batter should be lumpy.

Fill muffin cups 2/3 full.

  8. I always feel connected to other women that have tea around 3pm every afternoon as well and you found a sweet peony teacup to use this week. Several of my peonies are divisions from friends so I know how special your plant is that was from your mother's peony.
The vase of buds is pretty and will make another beautiful bouquet.
Thank you for linking to Mosaic Monday Betty.
