Bits and Pieces

Hello everyone,
I love September. Last year I purchased a new sofa, the
natural color brown goes so well with my favorite decor.
I picked a few vignettes I used last fall in my living room.
I have a fondness for sunflowers and vintage glassware.
I have a male and female wooden duck decoys I received
from my dad's collection. I love any wildlife artwork.
Cloches are fun to use when filled with
dried moss balls, twigs and dried wood.
The angel advent candle holder is on the end table year round.
Wishes to everyone during this delightful fall season.
My vintage candy dish always held candy for
my mother's grandchildren when they came
for a visit.
Last year's fall coziness.
Some pillow love. The large pillows came with the
new sofa. This year I have made covers for them.
YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE pillow is a fall favorite.
The two 18" x 18" pillows have a pair of Walmart
pillow covers in a soft beige tone.
I have a post with this year's fall vignettes coming in a
couple of days.
Thanks for visiting today.
Joyously,
Betty

EASTER PARADE~TBT

MARCH 2016
THROW BACK THURSDAY
My Granddaughters are now 16 years old in April and fourteen years old.
We are planning to have Easter dinner with our daughter, friend and granddaughters this Sunday and I wanted to share with you the wonderful time we had some years ago.

Hi everyone,
How's your Easter plans going? My weekend is going to be pretty low key. Sweetheart and I are having our daughter and two granddaughters over for brunch on Easter Sunday.
My 11 year old granddaughter printed the letters on my new chalk board tray. I love the way she prints.
Happy Easter!
The other day I found an old silver plate tray I wasn't using, and decided to  paint it with some amazing chalkboard paint.  I love to play with paint and this is such a cute idea.
While shopping for our brunch I picked up a beautiful lily. I wrapped it in some burlap I had on hand and tied a bow with a pink gingham ribbon.
I love the rustic look the burlap gives the tablescape with the pink...gingham ribbons.
The baskets with candy are ready to be eaten, and the pink lemonade in my Italian bottles all ready to have a refreshing  drink and a light brunch.

And the jar of colored eggs are so festive and spring like.
Yum! Candy! I love Chocolate. Can you tell?
The everyday flatware is wrapped in linen napkins with more pink gingham ribbon.

I'm serving brunch on vintage snack serving sets. The wonderful sets have been with me since the early 60's.  I used the delightful sets for many bridal and baby showers, and I have such fond memories of those days gone by.

A Visit to Europe

Hi,
In the following weeks I'm going to be  sharing my trip to Europe to celebrate my 50th Wedding Anniversary on July 17, 2010.
I published this post when we returned from our amazing trip. If your a new visitor or old visitor I hope you enjoy the journey!
Joyously,
Betty

Wow!!!!  I'm back from the most amazing trip.  I am a California girl.  Born and raised in San Jose, California.  I have traveled some over the past 15 years, but this trip to Europe was a trip of a life time.  Sharing experiences of a trip with family and friends is the most rewarding part of traveling.  I returned to California at 11:35p.m. Saturday night after a flight of 19 hours and 55 minutes.  Leaving Barcelona at 12:00nn on Saturday and flying around the globe was an experience beyond my wildest dreams. The countries I visited were filled with history, art and architecture.

Please join me on a visual journey.

'Venice, Italy'

'Dubrovnik, Croatia'

'Corfu, Greece'

'Cephalonia, Greece'

'Santorini, Greece'

'Taormina, Italy'

'Pompeii, Italy'

'Rome, Italy'

'Pisa, Italy'

'Barcelona, Spain'
I hope you have enjoyed your journey.  And I relive my travels again in my imagination with every photograph.
Thank you for visiting me a My Cozy Corner.

OUTDOOR WEDNESDAY

Hi everyone,
I published my first post on Christmas day, December 25, 2009. I've learned a lot in the past few years. But, when I first started blogging I didn't add labels to my post. So to make a long story, short. I'm adding labels now.    I've been going back and adding labels in evening while I'm watching television. Well this post was accidentally published again, and I decided to share this post as it was posted sometime in February, 2010.
Enjoy
I would like to share with all my blogging friends the views I enjoy.
I live in Northern California and this is a view of Shasta Lake looking toward the mountains from Bridge Bay Resort.  I took this photograph on January 31, 2010.

There was a break in the rain and a Sunday ride was the order of the day.

This is a photo of Interstate 5 crossing the lake going north toward Mt Shasta.

This is a view of the house boats moored to the side of the lake during the winter.  The boats are moored to docks that move up and down as the lake raises and falls according to the amount of water that is released from the dam.  In the summer they are moved closer to the resort for easy access.
Just another look at the beautiful lake.
Thanks for visiting My Cozy Corner
