Tablescape # 44 - A Vintage Bird Cage

Hello Everyone,
I'm so excited to share with you
'My Vintage Bird Cage'
A few weeks ago I won a $50 dollar gift certificate from
Between Naps on the Porch.
for
French Bleu Vintage
I love being a winner. Don't You?

I thought today's tablescape would be an appropriate time to show
'My Vintage Bird Cage'
 as the Tablescape Centerpiece.
I also just had an update to Picasa 3 and added  this wonderful Museum Matte
 Just love the look!

I've had the bird's nest and eggs for awhile
and
the bird I just bought at Yes, you guessed it
Tuesday morning.
It isn't vintage but just about everything else on this table is...

The beautiful dessert plates and tea cups and saucers were my Father's Grandmother's dishes.

The plates have RS Prussia marked on the back.
I don't know how my family acquired the dishes, but I was was the fortunate one to inherit the antiques.

There is something soft and romantic about vintage table settings.

"RS Prussia" porcelain is know both for the complexity of its molds and for the beauty of the patterns, most of which were applied using floral transfers, such as gold gilding or embellishments like thick enameling to give the floral prints texture.

I found the vintage napkin rings at the thrift store and 12 napkins came with a
120" tablecloth I found at a yard sale.
Hand made in Columbia

*Betty's Cafe and Tea Room* # 1

Welcome to my Virtual Tea Room
I will be sharing on occasion a Tea Room I have  recently visited. I have wanted to own a Tea Room for a long time but in this real world I live in, it's just not going to happen.
So please enjoy yourself while
I take you to tea with me.

Now Imagine this is my Tea Room.
While in York, just a stone's throw from York Minster was this magical Tea Room.
Of course it has my name on the front!!!
Walk in through the front door and you'll be greeted by a small shop with antique dressers and cabinets. stocked with an extensive range of teas and coffees, cakes and gifts.
Up a flight of winding stairs there's a cosy cafe' with wooden beams, and roaring fires in the winter. A perfect place to meet friends and family for Afternoon Tea.

During my last trip to the Bay Area to celebrate my mother's 91st birthday, my sister and I took our mother to Afternoon Tea at
'Lisa's Tea Treasures'

My mother, sister and I had this beautiful dessert. Mom was the lucky one and had a candle to blow out.

The linen-clothed table is laden with china and sliver and a small bell to ring for service.

The creamer is covered with an adorable dolly trimmed with beads and a rose on top.

Beautiful tea cup and saucer.
I didn't look to see the name.
Can you expert tea cup lovers help me with the name of the company that made this beautiful tea set?
The next Tea Room I visit I will be taking notes

The Duchess' Delight
(afternoon tea in England)
Yep!! That's me...
A scone with Devonshire cream and preserves, Two each of Egg Supreme and Cucumber Mint Tea Sandwiches and Quiche of the day and dessert.
Heavenly

When I saw this beautiful display I knew
 I was in heaven.

Just fabulous

Tea anyone?

Yes, I have a favorite.
Any one for Blue and White?

This is the front entrance of the Tea Room.
I love it all~

Now you can laugh, but I had to go to the WC
(Water Closet) or ladies room.

My sister loved this bunny

The picnic is serve yourself.
Today my granddaughters and I went
English County Dancing all afternoon. I made the mac salad last night and soaked the chicken in buttermilk overnight. I baked the cupcakes this morning before we went dancing. When we came home at four I prepared the chicken, mixed the baked beans and put the frosting on the cupcakes. Dinner was ready at six.
We were so hungry from dancing.
We learned how to dance the same way
'Jane Austen' danced in the 1700's.
What a hoot!!!

~Bunnies On The Coffee Table~

Hi Everyone,
I'm excited about all the parties.
I have my last Egg-Xellent party ready to post. But since I have my bunnies out once a year
I thought I would put the 'Bunnies on the Coffee Table'
and show off my Pink Perfection Camellia next to some sparkly  eggs...

Monday
Bunnies on the Mantel for the Mantelscape Party

I bought this set of three precious  bunnies at Tuesday Morning last month.  They are marked lawn and garden @ $3.99 each.  I wanted to bring in some sophistication into my living room.  I have a habit of bouncing all over the map in the decor world. From Sophisticated to Whimsy.   I have a few  whimsical bunnies that I will be using on  my  Easter Parade Tablescape.

The sparkly eggs add some color to my glass coffee table.  My
'Pink Perfection' camellia has a few sprigs of lilac buds in the vase also.

I love seeing the beautiful blooms in the early spring...then they are gone for another year.

Easter Eggs are special eggs that are often given to celebrate Easter or springtime.
The egg is widely used as a symbol of the start of new life, just as new life emerges from an egg when the chick hatches out.

Wonderful reading...

Hop~Hop~Hop

Silly me! I always show you My Cozy Corner.

I had a wonderful comment about this bunny scratching his ear.  I didn't even notice that detail.  Thanks so much for spotting the cute gesture.  Good Eye...I found this bunny at the thrift store last month and he is becoming a favorite.
Oh my gosh~I love to blog.
Is it the hunt for something to post about? Or is it the wonderful knowledge we learn when researching about an Easter Egg or the meaning behind the Bunnies at Easter?
Absolutely Amazing. I keep being inspired by this wonderful hobby.

I love my mosaics....
How about joining me while I hop around to some awesome parties.
