It's the Little Things that Matter #6

Hello everyone,
One bloom at a time. I planted some new
gladiolus bulbs this spring, but it will be
awhile before they bloom.
This gladiolus bulb was left in the ground
from last year and it's the only one that came up so far.
Since I turned three-quarters of a century old
I have been pondering the word ACCEPTANCE.
Acceptance is a word with many meanings.
So let's narrow it down to Self-Acceptance...
Life is a journey and a happy one as
long as I can accept change.
I watch change every day in nature. The
daylily blooms in the morning and by the end
of the day its life is over.
3 things I want to work on for the rest of my life.

One...I will try to nurture myself every day.
Two...Practice acceptance in my daily affairs.
Three...Live one day at a time.

Thank you for visiting.
I am so grateful for today.
Joyously,
Betty

It's the Little Things that Matter #5

 Hello everyone,
Yesterday I showed you my big garden...
Today "It's the Little Things that Matter" and
I have been contemplating about what is really
important in life. Since my birthday a few weeks ago I
think about how long will I be able to do such physical work?
I love to garden. Planting, weeding and always changing the
garden decor from one spot to another. Someday, will I have a little garden?
Maybe so...Today I'm so grateful  to have my Fern Grotto.
It brings me great pleasure.
I love the assortment of plants I can grow in this
small place. I have a Lemon tree; Jade plant; a variety of Ferns;
different kinds of Ivy and my Angel begonia.
If you want to live more, you must master the
art of appreciating the little, everyday blessings
of life. This is not altogether a golden world,
but there are countless gleams of gold to be
discovered in it if we give our minds to them.

Thank you for visiting today and have a great week.

June Garden Journal

Hello everyone,
Welcome to my blog...If this is your first time
here I am so happy you are visiting.
Each month I share photos of my garden.
I love to see the changes from month to
month and year to year.
The little blue bench got a new paint job.
and I am trying to develop a shade area
under my plum tree...I have wild violets growing
and I would like to plant some hosta plants and other
shade loving plants.
My new love affair is my water pump.
I love the contrast of my garden decor in this
photograph.
June is the begining of our hot weather season.  I planted two
hydrangeas last year. They have grown taller
and wider this year. I bought a new umbrella to
cover them during the hot summer days.
I think I need to find a new place for my angel. She is
getting covered with the beautiful blooms. Go Here
for a look at last year's hydrangeas.
My hydrangeas are very special to me.
During the month of May the roses are all blooming.
June is the month for my day lilies to show off.
I love the beautiful yellow/orange color of
day lilies.
One more look at my water pump.
I hope you have a great week. I will be back
soon to share more garden beauty.
Joyously,
Betty

It's the Little Things that Matter #4

Welcome to another "Little Things That Matter"
Well things are a buzz around here today.
We are having a new roof put on our house and
the roofers are walking around on the roof and
making all sorts of noise...
The weather has been beautiful for the roofers and
it will continue to be mild for a few more days. They are
a great bunch of workers and I love the new roof color.

June reared that bunch of flowers you carry,
From seeds of April's sowing.
~Robert Browning
How do you like my new water pump? I painted it
"John Deere" green...
The barrel is plastic and I cut the bottom out of it
and planted my favorite Lantana shrub. A Lantana shrub attracts
butterflies and hummingbirds. With our hot sun
I planted this Lantana in part sun and part shade.
I would love it to cascade over the barrel before
the summer's end.
Thanks for visiting today...
Joyously,
Betty

Angel Tea Time

Hi Everyone,
Angels are on my mind.  Last weekend we had a family reunion
and my six granddaughters are my angels.
If you follow along...I celebrated my 75th birthday.
To see "When Little Things Matters" Go Here
I wanted to share the pretty pink favors my granddaughter
made for my guests. The favors are filled with key lime salt
water taffy. Yum~

Summer Kiss Roses and my Butterfly Bush are
still blooming.
I found this tea set at a yard sale.
It has one dinner plate to use for serving dessert.
I love to share my flowers and tea cups.
Especially with a little angel watching.
A tea cup and saucer to pin...

Things are busy around our house this week.
We are having a new roof put on our house.
I am picking up after a weekend of company.
And Life is good today.

Betty

It's the Little Things that Matter #3

Hi everyone,
I've been busy since last Wednesday.  My
family arrived from Southern California on
Thursday and Friday I was enjoying
my granddaughter's company at the
Water Park. Saturday afternoon
I celebrated my 75th birthday.
Our family consists of six males and ten females.
I have six granddaughters and they are
AMAZING!

Let's Celebrate

Hello everyone,
I have all my yard work done and I'm ready for our
party this Saturday. Today's temperature was over the
century mark and all this week it's projected to
be in the triple digits.  I will be moving the party into
the house, but we will do the family photo
outside under the big tree. I'll share the photo next week.
I was planning to have the food inside the house and eat outside
So I moved the black table and chairs from the pergola to the open patio for
more seating and with the picnic table we've had since the 70's
plus the table in the covered patio we have seating for 16 people.
That was before I saw the HOT weather forecast.
We will be eating indoors now.
I found two Salmon colored geraniums for decoration.
I love my bunting hanging in the pergola and my
new patio umbrella to shade my company.
When I moved the black patio table and chairs to the
open patio, I moved my bistro set and bench under
the pergola. The lavender is blooming beautifully, and
I decided I wouldn't harvest it this year for my lavender projects.
I just want to enjoy the beautiful blooms.

A little apartment size stove sits under the
pomegranate tree. I would like to find some vintage cups
to put on the stove top adding more color...
The family will be arriving on Thursday afternoon and
hopefully I will be able to snap some photos of the
covered patio and the dining room decorated for
my birthday party on Saturday.
Have a great week.
Joyously,
Betty
