Butterfly Meadow Tea Time

Hello everyone,
I've had a busy week. I took the written test to renew my drivers licence for another five years. The next time I will take the test I will be 78 years old. Ouch! There were 18 questions and I missed two.
I PASSED! Yay.
As a reward for passing I treated myself to a new tea set. My birthday is Tuesday June 3rd and I've wanted this tea set for years.
Happy Birthday to me. Now you know the rest of the story.
I have no secrets from my blog friends. LOL
Lenox 'Butterfly Meadow' 7 piece tea set.
My tabletop has turned into a sun-soaked butterfly haven! From my breakfast table to my tea table. This gently scalloped tea set will brighten my tablescape with a yellow and blue butterfly pattern fluttering above vibrant florals.
Delicate details are so sweet.
A little lady bug in the tea cup.
Two soft yellow napkins from my favorite store
(Tuesday Morning) One napkin in the tea cup and one in the tray.

A butterfly on the tea pot lid♥
Soft pink flowers on the sugar and creamer and a pink flower bud as the handle for the sugar bowl.
A wonderful spot to sit in the morning and drink a cup of tea. Watching the sun rise and listening to the birds sing...
Over the past seven years since retiring I've collected several pieces of 'Butterfly Meadow' dinnerware. I found the dinner plates at a consignment store and the mugs at Tuesday Morning. The coffee pot was on sale at Macy's. The purchase of the coffee pot started
this journey to complete this beautiful table setting.

*Vintage Plant Stand*

Hello everyone,
Last June we updated our kitchen and dining room. I've been trying to finish up the details for awhile, but life keeps getting in the way of sewing the valance over the three windows in the dining room.
I was so excited last week, when I was in my favorite antique store an spotted this french inspired black wrought iron plant stand. I've been looking for a tall plant stand for a long time.
I love the Old World four-tiered stand with delicately scrolled trays. I have two house plants, a copper gratin pan and a GOLDEN CROWN E & R ANTIQUE FRUIT SERIES PORCELAIN VINTAGE TEA CUP AND SAUCER FROM ENGLAND displayed on my lovely plant stand.
I have a basket of vintage tea towels and a bouquet of lavender from my garden sitting on the floor. The smell of the lavender in the dining room is divine.
Copper and faux fruit add to my French Country Kitchen decor.
GO HERE for more of my Inspired French Country Kitchen.
Hopefully I will get to my sewing project soon and I'll share the rest of the kitchen and dining room.
Thank you for visiting My Cozy Corner.

Betty

*Memorial Day*

Hello everyone,
I'm still catching up after our Garden Tour and I'm overcome with the wonderful experience. Gardeners are the best!!!!
Today the kickoff weekend to Summer and Sweetheart and I are  enjoying a quiet weekend at home.
We bought a new flag to hang in the front of our house.
As you will see in this post I love our flag.
My most favorite Memorial Day was in 2006 when we visited Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. HERE

Our new flag flying in the wind.

Thanks for visiting and have a safe weekend.
Joyously,
Betty

Before, After and Potpourri

Hi everyone,
What a week! I'm finally on the mend from working in the yard for  three months. This week I just posted my garden tour for everyone to enjoy. I'm working on my kneeler non-stop.HERE and cleaning the house, paying bills and doing more planting. I was given 11 miniature roses from the rose society. I also planted some geraniums I had in the galvanized pails next to the little stove.
Remember the cute cherubs in the bird bath?
Before
Here they are all dressed up for the garden tour.
After
So Sweet*
This little kitchen stove is apartment size and does work.
Our granddaughters would play with this stove by the hours during the summer. One day I found them brewing tea with some JALAPENO PEPPERS from the garden. I ran out and told them to wash their hands and don't touch their eyes...LOL!  No, No, No, that just won't do!
Before
I wanted to share the urn in the fork of the tree and the galvanized pails with alyssum and geraniums.
After
The tea party is ready and the little stove is decorated for a fabulous day in the garden.
Roses in full bloom.
The perfect bud. More potpourri.
While I visiting a friend I took this photo. A hummingbird drinking from a hand pump fountain. It's amazing.
I love this photo.
These lovely cherubs are so dear to my heart.
Thank you for visiting.
Joyously,
Betty

Rose and Garden Tour 2014

"The Garden of Angels"

Hello everyone,
Our property is eight-tenths of a acre. The front yard is low maintenance with Camellia Japonica, Hydrangea and Camellia Sasanqua 'Yuletide' and a large Maple tree.
This is the sign that greeted our visitors as they entered our garden.
The front porch was bedecked with a beautiful potted plant I bought at Home Depot.

Flowering Pear and Raywood Ash trees line the driveway. Walking under an arbor covered with a 'New Dawn' climbing rose brings visitors into "The Garden of Angels" with a view of different entertaining spaces.
The kitchen area is for cooking and canning. An enclosed patio provides a place for shade loving plants and a fern grotto. The seating area is for conversation on warm summer evenings and watching TV.
A fragrant circular rose garden is surrounded with potted herbs and a Dutchman's Pipevine leads to the hand built pergola.
The pergola provides a place for tea time or evening dining and is surrounded by lavender, roses perennials and annuals.

Other benches are placed along the path under an old shade tree.
Sally Holmes rose and purple lupins
The large lawn area is bordered by a curved English cottage style garden with decorative statues, perennials, several types of roses and shrubs providing color spring, summer and fall.
An additional park bench sits under a flowering plum tree.
Growing along the fence are grape vines, and a plot where a summer vegetable garden is planted. One olive tree provides the best cured green olives. Behind the garage is a small area for potting plants and storing extra garden supplies. The vendors were in the back of the property selling mosaic garden decor, bird houses and wind chimes.
The rose society sold a 100 miniature rose along the side of the garage.
The cupids got dressed up with some sweet white Alyssum and Graham Thomas my David Austin rose bloomed profusely.
Ingrid Bergman, Simplicity, St Patrick, Dream Weaver, Tiffany and my peonies were showing off at their best. I just  planted strawberries and  Bat Face Cuphea in the front part of this bed.
Summer Kiss and my Butterfly Bush are doing wonderful.
This is a great Gardening year.
"Gardening is a journey-always changing and always so rewarding.
This is one the of the beautiful bouquets that were sitting on tables.
I have so many photos I just couldn't put them in one post.
This is Garden Party  and a Thompson Seedless Grape vine in the pergola area
A vendor with metal garden are work was very popular.
What an amazing day for me. It was a dream come true.
Hope you enjoyed your tour and please come back soon.
I have more to show you.♥
