Tea Time Review 2015

Hello everyone,
Welcome to my annual tea time review. I love to set a
tea table, large or small and this year I have tried to post
your favorites and mine.
January
Friendly Village is everyone's favorite. I started off with
a warm and cozy tea table in the living room
by the fireplace with a few roasted chestnuts.

February
The first flower to bloom in my yard is our large
Camellia. February is a romantic month so I
have heart shaped cookies and a little felt heart to
share with you. Cupids on the vintage vase and
a tall mug to drink a cup of hot tea on a crisp
February day.

March
I love the month of March. I'm out in the garden working and in the afternoon
I sometimes need a little nap and a pot of tea in my favorite room.

April
The Iris are blooming and a pot of tea and a scone is perfect for
a beautiful April day.  My favorite lavender cups and I know you
love them too.  Please sit with me for a spot of tea and a scone.
May
The garden is full bloom and ONE of my favorite flowers is showing off
today. When my mother passed away in November of 2012, I dug up some of
her favorite peony plants and replanted them in my garden. What a joy
to see the beautiful flowers that once bloomed in my mother's garden
for over 60 years flourish in my garden. I found the tea cup with big peony blossoms and a  gold handle at the thrift shop.
The tea cup and the peonies look very regal.

June
A lazy day in June is the perfect time to relax in my favorite room
with a cup of tea and a piece of toasted raisin bread. Yum!
I have picked some of my favorite roses for my angel vase.
July
It's time for Tea for Three. My granddaughters came over to join me
for a spot of tea and a festive cupcake. The roses are still blooming
even when the weather is so hot.
August
While on our anniversary trip to the West Coast. I found this
precious knit tea cozy...I knew it was time to bring out the
Scottish tea cups and have some shortbread cookies.

September
September is apple month and I have everything for an Apple tea.
I love my green depression glass tea cups and saucers. Apple napkin
rings and napkins with an apple pattern finish my tea tablescape.

October
During our trip to Boston in September.
We visited the the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum and
Abigail's tea room. While drinking tea and eating lunch there
I purchased Abigail's tea blend to bring home for a tea party.
I had a pleasant day and I prepared a Tea for Abigail. Chicken salad sandwiches, with grapes and strawberries on the side.
A new tea towel and my grandma's tea pot she brought over from England in 1914.

November
I was excited about decorating for Christmas and when sweetheart and I
were on vacation I found this darling handmade lamb.
The vintage tea pot, Old Country Roses tea cup and saucer and a
Christmas Cactus is a match made in heaven.
December
I have been searching for a Christmas tea cup and saucer for years.
I found one while in the thrift shop during Thanksgiving weekend.
My son and I love to check out thrift stores and I was so
blessed to find this Duchess tea cup and saucer.
This is my Christmas Day post to all my wonderful
followers and friends. It's also my 6th anniversary of blogging.
I published my first post on December 25th. 2009.

Year in Review 2015

Hello everyone,
I'm counting down the days until the New Year.
Thank you followers and friends for visiting My Cozy Corner.
I've had a great time this year blogging and sharing my home and garden with you.
Sweetheart and I did some traveling and enjoyed our growing family over the
holidays. I put together a collection of mosaics of 2015.
I hope you enjoy my favorite posts and yours.
January
I had a burning desire to visit France in 2015.  I wanted to eat Patisserie
and enjoy delicious coffee at an outdoor cafe in Paris.
This is the closest I got. Maybe someday.
February
I love the felt hearts and heart plates on the mantel.
The hearts are a reminder I was engaged on
Valentine Day's February 14th 1960.
What a romantic time.
March
The roses in the garden bloomed a month early this year.
The first bloom is the best. The weather is cool and the
sun is shining just enough for the blooms to stay
their true color for at least five days.
April
David Austin 'Graham Thomas'
Old English Rose

May
My Hydrangeas are in full bloom.

June
The fern grotto is ready for summer love in the sun.
The yellow day lilies are showing off  their beautiful color.
July
Red-White-Blue
Pillows, flowers and the bunting...
August
The garden is in full swing.
My grape vines are loaded with the
sweetest grapes and the tomatoes and olive
tree are almost ready to harvest. Pears and Apples are
going to be baked into delicate desserts.
September
Red, White and Blue Master Bedroom.
Pillow love, quilt and shams.
I love to decorate the master bedroom.
October
Pumpkins and Mums.
Autumn is a wonderful time of year.
The weather is mild and the leaves are starting
to turn into outstanding orange and brown colors.
November
November is Gratitude month. I love the definition of the word gratitude.
The quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
December
December is the month of celebration.
The true meaning of Christmas

Betty

Christmas Day Tea Time

Hello everyone,
I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and thank you for your
kindness and support for the past six years. On Christmas Day 2009,
I pushed the publish button for the first time to start my blog journey.
GO HERE to see my first post.
I always want to share more holiday decorations,
but time and my energy seem to run out by Christmas eve.
Last night my sweetheart and I enjoyed a wonderful
family dinner and a beautiful church service.
I have a poinsettia tea cup, poinsettia napkin ring and a
flickering candle in a wicker tray. Under the candle is a joyous
and whimsical holiday novel 'Angels at the Table'
by Debbie Macomber.
Tea cup and saucer is  'DUCHESS' Bone China~Made in England.

Wishing you a happy holiday season.

Christmas Home Tour 2015

Hello everyone,
We are at the countdown to December 25th. I wanted to
share some of my holiday decorations with you.
I have the dining room finished and the master bedroom, but today
I'm going to share with you our living room.
Let's start with the mantel. I am continuing my plate theme
on the mantel. I have used different plates all during
this year. These cute little deer plates I found at Walmart and I bought
another pattern I will be using on a little tea table later
this week.
Red Cardinals are so beautiful and I wanted to use them this year
on my mantel.  Little red berries are accents in the greenery and
a small Red Cardinal is on each plate.
A sweet Red Cardinal nesting by a hurricane.
Last year was the first year I have hung a banner across the fireplace.
I decided to put up another banner this year.
While I was shopping for some decorations at Rite Aid
I found these little stockings.
The Red Cardinals and Deer on the wreath were on the banner last year.
GO HERE to see last year's banner.
While my son was visiting at Thanksgiving, he bought this
holiday hanger. The mistletoe ornament was the perfect match.
Now we are going to see the true meaning of this holiday.
Yes, the birth of our Lord.
A tray full of seasonal icons.
Deer sheds, jingle bells, bright red ornaments and
pine cones.
The tree is decorated and stands in the corner next to the window.
I love looking at Christmas trees in windows of homes as I drive down our street.
I have angels and some red and gold ornaments.
Gold and silver beads are draped around the tree.
Once again the holy family and the three wise men in a cloche.
I don't use real candles, because of the danger of fire.
The hurricane is a thrift store find this year.

Hope you enjoyed my Christmas tour and thank you for visiting.
