A Quick Photo Op

Hello Everyone,
I just bought a potted Hydrangea plant from the grocery store yesterday. When I got home I discovered I had two plants in the pot. I soaked the pot overnight and then I removed all the blooms and put them into a few quart jars from the canning cupboard.  I planted the Hydrangeas in hopefully a good spot with only a bit of morning sun. With the extreme heat we experience during the summer I might have to find a golf umbrella and shade these babies for a while.
Last evening as I was walking about the garden doing a little dead heading on the roses, I cut these blooms from my new rose bush. The rose is 'Red Gold' a AARS winner 1971. Florabunda Golden edged in deep fire red with a light fragrance.
The french wire basket is holding the jars so I can move them around the picnic table as we need more space to eat and study our next project for the kitchen remodel.

Update on remodel:
We have the new floor installed and It is going to be so easy to clean compared to my 22 year old white vinyl.  While we were out on Saturday we decided to buy a new range. We have a 22 year old Jenn-Air with the build in downdraft ventilation system. We decided to keep the stainless steel cooking elements from the old range and just purchase the Slide-In range. It is all digital and a more accurate oven temperature.  Sweetheart is installing the range as I write this post. I will be helping him sometime soon, but meanwhile I'm polishing and cleaning the living room. We need one room with some calmness to it.

*Sundial Bridge*

Oh, the PLACES I've been!
Hello Everyone,
I'm so proud of my City for building this beautiful bridge.
The Sundial Bridge is a cantilever spar cable-stayed bridge for bicycles and pedestrians that spans the Sacramento River in Redding, California.
Shall we walk across the bridge?
How about a look under the bridge?
This is the underside of the bridge.
Santiago Calatrava designed this bridge at Turtle Bay Exploration Park in Redding, California.
We are looking West up the Sacramento River.
One of the markers on the dial of the sundial
A beautiful Arboretum and Garden is included in the beautiful park area.
Under the bridge is a beautiful view of the river and waterfowl.
Drift boats of fishermen are often seen passing beneath the bridge as they fish for salmon, steelhead and rainbow trout

~Amaryllis Not Just for Christmas~

Hello Everyone,
It's time for Vee's Note Card Party on Wednesday. With three of my Amaryllis blooms I'm using for my note cards,  I made my June banner.
This white Amaryllis is the newest bulb I received Christmas 2012.
A couple of years ago I planted my Christmas Amaryllis. The beautiful plants bloom like a trooper and multiplies every year. I started with one plant and now I have three. Awesome!
I love having Amaryllis plants in my garden.  They are wonderful to watch growing everyday with a new bloom or two and the blooms are long lasting.
Each Plant has four or more blooms.
If you love to garden, give this amazing plant a try.
Thanks for visiting My Cozy Corner.
~Update on remodel of My French Country Kitchen~
The painting was finished on Friday, and the walls look beautiful. I love the color  and I've decided to call the paint color 'French Vanilla Ice Cream' LOL!
Tuesday the flooring will be installed. Then the fun will start. Washing all my dishes, tea cups and saucers.

A Silly Black Bird

Hello Everyone,
It's been a week since I posted and I wanted to share a funny story that happened this past week.
We're making progress on our kitchen remodel.
The painter is coming tomorrow and the new flooring will be installed next week.
I'll keep you up to date in a few days.
So now to my story about
A Silly Black Bird
I have a stainless steel trash can in my laundry room for my garbage and since I'm redoing the laundry room I moved it outside to the patio. Along came this black bird. While I was working in the garden I would hear this sound like dripping water. I looked around the garden and checked the faucets, but nothing was leaking.  I kept hearing the dripping water sound. After a few hours I saw this black bird looking into the stainless steel can. He saw another bird. I couldn't believe my eyes. This silly black bird had a new friend. He circled the trash can all day long. Around and around as the sun moved the bird's reflection moved.  The next day he was back looking into the stainless steel can again.
Looking at his friend or (mate?)
It was amazing...And so funny.
The bird would look at the other bird and make a funny crackling sound.
He would fluff up his feathers and bow his head.
The 'Silly Black Bird' performed this ritual over and over and over.
Hum! Very Interesting!
I finally moved the trash can to the shade and the bird on the can disappeared.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it...

Pretty and Pink

Hello Everyone,
Update on Kitchen remodel. It's a mess...I wanted to drop in and post some
Pretty and Pink
A little garden color to keep my life in perspective.
  Joyous!
The weather is warming up this week and today we're in the low 90's. This week  I was going to try and work in the yard, but it was just a little to warm for me.
I love my hollyhocks. Ten yeas ago I had my back garden fence covered with different colored hollyhocks. But over the years I only have a few plants left. The pink colored hollyhocks are the only color that has survived. I have some seeds to plant and maybe next year I will have more of a variety of colors.
I'm always looking to the future garden. Planning and planting.
The center blossom and the blooms are so amazing.
The sweet peas are finally blooming.
The pretty pillows are on my patio swing with some
Pretty and Pink
I'm celebrating my birthday on June 3rd. I bought myself some camera equipment and my sweetheart, daughter and granddaughters are taking me out to dinner. Oh happy day!
Hopefully I will be able to post again at the end of the week.
Thank you for your wonderful comments.
