'New Year's Eve Party Hostess Gift'

Applesauce Bread
Hello everyone,
Hope you're ready for the party tonight.  Sweetheart
and I are going to a New Year's Eve party
and I wanted to bring the hostess a gift.
I was so  blessed, because last week a dear friend gave me this jar of homemade applesauce. Thanks Kim.
Along with the wonderful applesauce was a delicious recipe for Applesauce Bread. Yum...
I love the raffia ribbon and the buffalo check jar cover.
Look at the nice chunks of apple in the applesauce.
Here is the Printable recipe for
Kim's best ever Applesauce Bread

1/3 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 cup applesauce
1 1/2 cup flour
3/4 teaspoon each - cinnamon, baking soda
1/2 teaspoon each - baking powder, salt, ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1. cream together butter and sugar
2. add egg, mix well then fold in applesauce
3. in a separate bowl, combine all dry ingredients
4. add dry ingredients to creamed mixture until moistened
5. pour batter into a greased loaf pan
6. bake at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes or until a toothpick
inserted near the center comes out clean.
7. cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to cool on a wire rack
* You can use an electric mixer to cream butter, sugar and egg, but
the rest should be done by hand to avoid pureeing the chunky applesauce
makes 1 loaf...
Thanks Kim

I baked the applesauce bread and delicious it is...
Time to wrap my delicious applesauce bread in a decorative way.
I found a delightful Victorian image on 'The Graphics Fairy' website and printed it out. I trimmed the photo with scalloped craft scissors and found some twine and Ta Da my bread was ready to be delivered to our hostess

This bread is so delicious and moist.
Delicious with cream cheese, butter and/or Pomegranate jelly
Everyone loves apples
I love the chunky apple pieces and the spices make the bread even more  delicious

Have a safe and happy New Year's Eve

A Cozy Christmas Table

Hello everyone,
Christmas Eve is in the air. Sweetheart and I are enjoying a  quiet Christmas Day together. Our children are spending time with their children at home. Since Thanksgiving Day I have been with each child and granddaughters on a one on one  basis. Early in November I visited our son in L A. Our middle son and family spent Thanksgiving Day with us, and our sweet daughter graces us with her presence at least twice a week. LOL. In fact, I went to the movies with her and girls tonight.
I set a small table by the dining room Christmas tree for a more intimate feeling.  I just think Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a Poinsettia plant.  And when I found the  Lenox Poinsettia napkin rings on clearance last year and then I found the Lenox Poinsettia napkins.  I knew I was in heaven.
A dish lover's dream come true!
The candle light is so amazingly beautiful.
The table is all decked out with red chargers and Ralph Lauren dinner plate and salad plate.
The gold rimmed glasses came from my mother's estate
The crystal candle stick holders I've had for 24 years.
They are Fostoria 'American'
I have a red runner on the table,  and my frenchy pillows in the chairs.

My silver  flatware is 'Affection' So true for the two of us.

I hope you enjoy your holiday dinner with family, friends or just with the one you love...
Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments you have sent my way this past year. I reap many wonderful rewards from blogging. It feeds my soul...
A BIG THANK YOU!
