Autumn Tea Time

Hello Everyone,
Autumn is a wonderful time of year to enjoy tea.
The days are cooler and the autumn colors are appearing in the garden. My father was an avid duck hunter and when I spotted these Johnson Bros tea cups and saucers it reminded me of my childhood.
Every year during hunting season my father would go duck hunting or pheasant hunting and bring home beautiful Mallard Ducks and Pheasants for dinner.
It was a very special treat to have roasted wild game for dinner on a cold fall evening.
I found the cups and saucers at a local thrift shop few weeks ago.
The pattern is called 'BROOKSHIRE' and has a charming multi motif pattern.
The pattern is decorated with  beautiful detailed birds and feather designs.
The tea cup and saucer are nested in a grapevine wreath with the grape tendrils winding around the saucer and the plate.

Finger Sandwiches with creamy egg salad are and integral part of every tea. I love the look of this tea sandwich made with 3 bread slices for each sandwich. The sandwich is cut vertically into 4 finger sandwiches. The egg salad triangles are garnished with fresh minced parsley from my herb garden.
The Pheasant trivet has been around My Cozy Corner for over 40 years.
And the Autumn Sedum is a perfect addition to my Autumn Tea time.
I garnished the plate with a few sprigs of Italian parsley for decoration. The creamy egg salad has an extra burst of flavor from minced red onion and sweet pickle relish.
The egg salad recipe is courtesy of Tea Time magazine September/October 2012
The egg salad sandwiches can also be made into spirals. I'm in the process of testing recipes for my annual Christmas tea.  And this egg salad recipe is going to be on the menu. It's so delicious.
A simple white tea pot, a rustic crock with fall flowers, plus charming foul tea cups and saucers and dainty tea sandwiches are the essence of this Autumn Tea.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit to My Cozy Corner today.
I will be joining some wonderful bloggers to share my Autumn Tea Time.

  6. Love it! Love it! And especially like that you found these cups at a Thrift Store! I found the most delicious tea cups with a pink Rose motif at my local Good Will Store. When I got them home they matched perfectly with a Teapot that I 'd had for years! Love those kind of moments!

  16. Just a pefect setting for a fall tea time. The Johnson Bros. pattern Brookshire is wonderful for an autumn motif. I'm glad you found them at a thrift shop and know you will enjoy them! I found a teapot in this pattern sometime ago and really love the shape. The pretty flower arrangement is lovely in your rustic crock! Enjoy a delicious egg salad sandwich for I love Tea Time magazine, too!

  17. Isn't this wonderful?! I just love it and setting the cup and saucer on the wreaths is such a fine touch. Egg salad sandwiches are one of my very favorites and I was happy to see that the recipe is exactly like my own, only I just toss stuff in. At least, I'm tossing all the same things in.
