Tablescape # 45 ~Pink Surprise and Guess What~

Hello, Hello Everyone.
The weather is beautiful in Northern California. Yesterday,I unveiled my tenders from their sleeping place and moved the Jewel plants to the their spot for the summer. You can see them in the background of this post.

Guest What! I don't know what this is.  My dear friend gave it to me last week as a gift.  She thought I would use it on a Tea Table.
Great idea.

It closes for easy storage and it's such a unique piece for my decor.

This is a side view.
It opens to three separate plates.

This Tablescape or Center Piece would be wonderful for a Tea Party Table. I could change the Flowers with the seasons or holiday. A tablescape is a work of art, and a small-scale landscape, expresses the event and it is a welcoming gesture.

I'm always happy with
'Pink Willow'dinnerware on my table, and a vintage doily.

Please help me with my dilemma. I would love to know what the proper name for this interesting table accessory.

  1. Hi Betty! You've set up a lovely vignette and I could always help you with those cookies! :)
I have one of those little stands - just like yours. I've used it when I've had ladies over for lunch and placed paper doilies on it and placed finger foods on it. It is pretty just closed.
Hope your week is going well.
    Be a sweetie,
    shelia ;)

  5. I have the very same stand, so I like the various ways you have used it. I usually serve cookies or scones on mine, with a paper doily under them.

  10. Betty, what a perfectly lovely addition to your table. Can be used both for serving goodies or with the flowers. Tiny lace paper doilies when using it for cookie etc. It's wonderful!! What a nice friend..AND it isn't taking up tons of room in your cupboard!

  14. I have one of these and I love it. I put paper doilies that are just a tad larger than the fold downs, and I serve tea sandwiches, scones, cookies, fudge, and I sometimes put it on my dressing table with real doilies and put my limoge boxes, jewelry, antique makeup cases. I could go on and on. Your setting look very pretty, but, these are just some more ideas as to what to do with this. Hope this helped. Blessings Paula

  16. Looks like a few of us have one of these- the store where I bought mine several years ago called it a cookie stand. I put clear glass plates on it to serve cookies- wasn't sure of the paint, and didn't want to risk possible lead contamination. I love the different ways you've used yours, some great ideas!

  18. What a fun table tool - perfect for bringing out the regular and toy tea sets for a grown up OR a little girls tea party. And what fun ideas you've explored in your pictures and your comments for how to use it. Definitely a fun Pink Saturday with one of my fave flowers- the bright camellias. Thank you for an enjoyable stop.
