Hello everyone,
What a year I had in 2016. Great fun: fabulous travel, good food,
and wonderful memories.
JANUARY
After the 2015 Christmas decorations had been stored away in the garage,
I got busy bringing in the cozy factor into the living room.
Warm fire in the fireplace and my favorite winter blooming
flower the "Yuletide" Camellia.
FEBRUARY
Sugar Cookies with Sugar Glaze tinted pink.
Who doesn't love Cookies and Milk? And heart shaped candy.
MARCH
Out came the bunnies. Decorating the mantel
with plates for each season has been a real joy.
APRIL
April I visited my very favorite city in the world.
I spent four days with my granddaughters and daughter.
We celebrated my granddaughter's sixteenth birthday by taking a
trip to the city by the bay. We rode a tour bus around the city.
Driving over the Golden Gate Bridge on the top deck of the bus.
We drove by Coit Tower and enjoyed lunch at the Cliff House.
We visited Alcatraz Island and Pier 39. Walking along Fisherman's Wharf,
we feasted on crab cocktails. We drank chocolate milkshakes at
Ghirardelli Square and rode the Cable Car back to the hotel at
10:00 o'clock at night. We shopped at Union Square
and walked the streets of China Town.
Four girls go traveling are doing more traveling in 2017, so stay tuned.
May
The weather this year in the month of May was glorious.
I featured two Jade plants I purchased in 2010 for $2.99 each.
They have grown to be the most spectacular plants. I do
protect them in the winter from the frost.
During April, May and June my garden is my passion.
When July and August roll around the weather turns hotter
than Hades.
June
This mosaic is a sprinkling of some
of my roses blooming in the month of June.
This June I celebrated my 75th birthday. Our family gathered in
the garden for the afternoon birthday party.
The group photo is of the immediate family,
the six granddaughters, and my husband and I
at our son's wedding at Marina Del Rey in September.
July
We celebrate our Country's birthday.
August
During the month of August, the evenings are
beautiful, and as soon as the sun sets the temperature
drops to 80 degrees. Sitting on the patio
with the candles glowing is just magical.
September
I love the fall colors surrounding the beautiful mountains
and lakes in our Northern California city.
I styled the Wreath with a plaid bow and painted
the letter butterscotch to accent the orange colors
of the season.
October
Pumpkins, Halloween, and cooler weather are what I love about the month of October. The patio is dressed in warm flannel throws and a decorative pumpkin pillow to celebrate the fall season. I sewed the pumpkin seed pillow cover from a piece of drop cloth. The pumpkin seed package is an iron on transfer from the graphic fairy website.
November
The month of November has a special place in my heart.
November is considered the month for being Grateful.
November is Gratitude Month,
and I am grateful for everything I have.
Especially my blogging family.
You all are the best.
Reading my blog and commenting
with such positive encouragement.
I love sharing "Little Things Matter."
I need to express how powerful gratitude is
in my life with the Little Things Matter posts.
Since I've been blogging, I have
found my true self. I love my life, my family
and my friends with a deeper feeling than ever before.
November is not only Gratitude month, but
every month is Gratitude month for me.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you
for being with me on my journey through life.
December
Wow! I made it to December, and I'm crying with joy.
The celebration of the birth of our Lord.
Giving thoughtful gifts to the ones we love.
Decorating our homes with sparkling trees.
Sharing the spirit of Christmas with family and friends.
I sincerely love looking back at the past year.
I see how blessed I am and how I am truly loved.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Joyously,
Betty
