Christmas # 50

2010 has been an Amazing year for me. Trips, Parties and now Christmas.   Since my sweetheart and I were married on July 17th 1960,  we have shared Christmas for 50 years.  As newlyweds we were excited about our First Christmas together as husband and wife
and now
I'm joining A Stroll thru Life for Table Top Tuesday. To show you my Christmas gift.   What did I get for Christmas from Santa?  Which Christmas? This Christmas? Or my First Christmas as a bride?

WELL!!!!!!!
This is what I received from my Sweetheart as a Christmas gift 50 years ago.

Art Deco Hand Held Vanity 4 piece Hairbrush Set and 6 Red Velvet Clothes Hangers.

A beautiful jewelry box

A wonderful comb

A fabulous brush

The mirror shows its age.  Moisture and light have stained the fabric on the mirror but it's OK after 50 years.  Showing our age is a Good Thing.

And the Lush Red Velvet Hangers.  When the hangers were new the red ribbons were crisp and the padding that covers the wooden hangers was uniform; Covering the hangers to make them hold the clothes in a most perfectly beautiful way.

I love my Christmas gifts and I treasure them everyday.  I don't use them anymore, but they are displayed on my night stand as a reminder to me of that Wonderful Christmas morning in 1960 when I opened the beautiful box and saw the amazing gifts that were given to me with such tender loving care.....

Thank you so much for visiting My Cozy Corner.

  1. Oh how precious. I just love that you have the gifts from your first Christmas. We were so poor, college students....we didn't have any presents...but I remember the sad little tree. It was gorgeous to me!

  4. That is the sweetest thing. I have a locket Don gave me our first Christmas but after numerous military moves, a flood and 44 years of packing and unpacking I don't have anything left but the locket and Don, of course. Back then we often didn't have money for film either so not many pictures. Please stay safe and warm.
