A Silly Black Bird

Hello Everyone,
It's been a week since I posted and I wanted to share a funny story that happened this past week.
We're making progress on our kitchen remodel.
The painter is coming tomorrow and the new flooring will be installed next week.
I'll keep you up to date in a few days.
So now to my story about
A Silly Black Bird
I have a stainless steel trash can in my laundry room for my garbage and since I'm redoing the laundry room I moved it outside to the patio. Along came this black bird. While I was working in the garden I would hear this sound like dripping water. I looked around the garden and checked the faucets, but nothing was leaking.  I kept hearing the dripping water sound. After a few hours I saw this black bird looking into the stainless steel can. He saw another bird. I couldn't believe my eyes. This silly black bird had a new friend. He circled the trash can all day long. Around and around as the sun moved the bird's reflection moved.  The next day he was back looking into the stainless steel can again.
Looking at his friend or (mate?)
It was amazing...And so funny.
The bird would look at the other bird and make a funny crackling sound.
He would fluff up his feathers and bow his head.
The 'Silly Black Bird' performed this ritual over and over and over.
Hum! Very Interesting!
I finally moved the trash can to the shade and the bird on the can disappeared.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it...

  1. That's hilarious Betty. Our budgies has the same reaction when they see their reflection in the mirror. They kept staring at themselves, I reckon they thought they're just too good looking. Or maybe they thought they found a mate. Animal behaviour, can be amusing.

Hope you're having a good week.

    Blessings,
