Traveling Tuesday

TRAVELING TUESDAY

Hello everyone,
I'm  continuing my TRAVELING TUESDAY SERIES and today we are taking the Old Town Trolley on a tour of the city.  This trolley was the best way to see Boston for us.  Sweetheart has breathing issues and can't walk very far before stopping to rest. If you are going to be visiting Boston buy a two day ticket. The Boston Tea Party * Ships and Museum is included in the ticket price. A $20.00 dollar value. HERE
We took the subway to Cambridge to visit the John F. Kennedy presidential library.  Some wonderful photos of his childhood and his early years in government.
President Kennedy's boat, The Victura, now stands on the lawn of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, with its bow pointed toward the horizon.
As you can see the weather was just perfect...
After visiting the library we visited the Trinity Church at Copley Square founded in 1733. I photographed some of the kneelers in the pews. I have a great love for kneelers.HERE
The finish line for the Boston Marathon is near the Trinity Church. We were walking and came upon a group of cyclists getting ready to race. Standing there  looking at the yellow finish line I had an overwheming feeling of sadness.
Before going into Church on Wednesday evening I visited the Boston Public Library...

After visiting the beautiful library we walked back to our hotel. We took a little rest and at 5 o'clock we took a taxi to Trinity Church and attended Evensong. The Trinity Choristers, founded in 2006, is a vibrant and renowned musical program open to all boys and girls aged 8 to 18. Evening prayer was sung by the choristers and they sounded like angels.

Thank you for visiting and I enjoyed sharing my visit to Boston. Next week we are heading  to Maine...Hope you come back and check out the sights.
Joyously,
Betty

  4. Those kneelers are really cool. I never would have thought they would have put so much effort into decorating them.
