HOLIDAY SHEET PAN PIE~4 IN 1

Hello everyone,
November is gone, and we are starting the most wonderful time of the year.
The four weeks before December 25th are so busy. When I saw this pie
on facebook, I was determined to make it for the holidays.
I wanted to practice baking this sheet pan pie before writing a post about
how easy it is to bake.
I found the recipe on the FOOD NETWORK.
I will add the video at the end of the post.
The pie consists of four ready-made pie crusts to make
the crust for the pie and the toppings for the apple
and cherry pie.
The recipe calls for fresh apples to make the Apple pie.
A can of Sour Cherries to make the Cherry pie.
Canned Pumpkin to prepare the Pumpkin pie.
I have a few tips to make this pie an easy way.
I have been baking for a lot of years, 57 1/2 years to be exact.
Tips:
#1 use a can of apple pie filling in place of mixing
the apple filling the old-fashioned way.
#2 I used a can of cherry pie filling in place of sour cherries, and it was delicious.
#3 Pumpkin pie mix worked beautifully for the pumpkin pie filling.
#4 The Pecan pie filling was so easy to assemble.  I did find Pecan pie filling
at World Market, but it was expensive compared to the price of the
apple, cherry, and pumpkin fillings.
I love this video to show how to assemble the pie.

The recipe for this fantastic pie is HERE
#5 I had to do some piece work on the bottom pie crust.
The top on the apple pie and the strips on the cherry pie are
brushed with a beaten egg and sprinkled with sugar.
Delicious

Thanks for coming over for a visit today.
We are starting our baking,
and this pie is an excellent way for everyone
to get a taste of their favorite pie.
See you soon.
Joyously,
Betty

Thanksgiving Day Tea Time

Hello, everyone,
Wow, we are fifteen days into November, and I wanted
to share my Thanksgiving Tea Time tablescape.
The beautiful flickering votive candle is the centerpiece
with the traditional Turkey and berries.
An Acorn teaspoon is symbolic of fall, and the
gold trimmed teacup and saucer are a
thrift store purchase. The dessert plate is
French Limoges. They look so similar I paired them
together for the elegant look of high tea.

My sister and brother-in-law visited a few weeks ago, and they brought
a gift of gratitude to me.
The oak leaf shaped white dish with gold trim and a salt and pepper
shaker in the shape of Acorns. I love the thought and the gift. Very cute.
Mr. Turkey is sparkling in the light of the candle.
I found him at my favorite store "Tuesday Morning."
I have finished my 2018 Tea Time calendar, and it will be available on December 1st.
One of these photos will be featured in November.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday,
and if you are traveling I will be praying for your
safety. See you soon.

November is Gratitude Month

Hello everyone,
November is gratitude month. Every day on Facebook I post what
I am grateful for. It is one the most rewarding ways to see
what is important to me in my life every day.  My family always tops
the list. Friends are on the gratitude list too.
Gratitude has not always been natural for me to recognize.
For years I was looking for something. More money, better home, better job.
Today, in my opinion, seeking material things was a waste of time. I can say that today.
At 76 years old, I want to savor every moment of the days I have remaining on this earth.
Being in the state of gratitude keeps me in the now.  I live day by day.
I move with ease through the day. Taking care of my emotional well being.
Enjoy my hobbies, planning healthy meals and feeling my best on a daily basis.
Gratitude helps me see a situation in a way that lessens panic and opens up my
thinking to new solutions.
Every night as I rest in bed, I review my day and give thanks
for the blessings, I have received during the day.
Prayer and Meditation bring positive thoughts into
my brain before sleeping.
Gratitude brings our mind from the negative to the positive.
We will be celebrating Thanksgiving.
Our country will celebrate gratitude for a free country.
Thank you for visiting
Joyously,
Betty

A Casual Tea Time

Hello everyone,
It's Tea Time again.
I am putting the final touches on my 2018 Tea Time Calendar.

A decorative white teapot from Tuesday Morning and I am going
to try and keep this new African Violet alive for more than a week. LOL!
When I retired from work in 2007, I decided to collect tea sets.
I wanted to have my lady friends over for tea and wanted to
set the table with matching tea sets. Now after all these years my love is
collecting a single teacup and saucer made in England.
But this tea set is one of my favorites, and I love
anything lavender.
I have posted this tea set before. HERE and HERE
The tea set is discontinued  'Lavender' Archive Collectable Teas, Royal Albert, Bone China.
The milk glass vase is a candy dish given to me as a gift from
a dear friend. She had many pieces of milk glass from her
father's estate. I am the proud recipient of the fabulous milk glass.
Lavender, lavender galore.

How to make a Sock Monkey

   Hello everyone,
Hi, fellow bloggers. I'm delighted to be posting today.
Happy to see November and some rain in this part of California.
Yesterday I planted some pansies, knee-high
sweet peas and a red holly bush, and today we enjoyed a light rain.
Now it is time to share my sock monkey project with you.
I am such a procrastinator. I bought this sock monkey kit in 2012.
Last week I finally put the eyelashes on MR. MONKEY
The adoption decree isn't filled out, but I am the proud guardian of
this precious wee sock monkey.
I am going to admit I have wanted to make a sock monkey forever.
At the ripe old age of 76, I finished my first sock monkey. I am trying to
finish all the projects started in the last few years. Scrapbooking is also on the list
I love MR. MONKEY'S eyelashes and black button eyes.
The kit included two Rockford Red Heel, socks.
One sock is cut to make the different parts of the monkey.
The ears, mouth, arms, and tail are one sock.
The other sock is the head. Body and two legs. The sock is turned inside out, and a line
is drawn to the heel.  The two legs are sewn and then cut apart. A small hole
is left to add the stuffing.  The sock is turned right side out and stuffed with batting.
After stuffing the head is tied at the neck with a string and hole is sewn shut.
The kit includes embroidery thread to sew the mouth, ears, arms, body, tail, and eyelashes. Also
the kit includes the black felt for the nose.
I found a friend for MR. MONKEY  at Tuesday Morning.
The small monkey was a Christmas tree ornament, but
he is now MR. MONKEY'S best friend. I also knitted
him a new red scarf too.
They both have found a new home in the dining room on the wicker chair.
I made some new blue and white checkered pillows for fall.
When I decorate for Christmas, I will have red plaid pillows
in the chairs.  I am sure MR. MONKEY loves his new family.
I sure love him and loved making him too.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you have enjoyed
my monkey tale.
Joyously,
Betty
