Hello everyone, 

Hope you had an enjoyable three day weekend. 

The days are warming up here in the Sacramento Valley, and
this May was a beautiful spring for the first blooms of the year.

We had a delightful Memorial Day dinner. My daughter and her family
came over for ribs, baked beans, and corn on the cob.  We also enjoyed 

Watermelon and baked s'mores. As you can see a white peony bloom above.

I grow peonies. I have one white peony plant

and one white bloom on the plant, but

I have several plants with the beautiful purple color.

Over the years of developing our cottage garden, I have tried to incorporate

perennials and roses closely related in color.

I found I can grow sweet peas in a bush form. These are the most prolific plants.

Succulents are happy in our hot weather, and I have

started two new pots for the summer.

English bunting hanging in the pergola and star jasmine growing up the posts.

My succulent pots are along the walkway.  I have moved the 

succulent pots to the front flower bed for a few weeks.
