Tuck Box Tea Room

Hello everyone,
Can you hear me scream with glee?  I've been wanting to visit the TUCK BOX TEA ROOM...in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California for YEARS. Isn't it cute?

I love the front door. Lets go in and take a look around.
Oh my gosh it's so small. Would you like to sit at the table by the fireplace? We did and we were the only patrons inside.  It was like having our own private party.  I am so blessed.

Look at the fireplace.  As I was writing this sentence I noticed the bricks set in the mortar. They are just as wavy as the roof line. Ha Ha.
I bought the Scone mix and the Ceylon Supreme Pekoe Black Tea was delicious.
The Olallieberry Spread is fabulous.
Go Here to see my tea time.
Beautiful tea pots. But they are not for sale.

Do you want to use the Water Closet before we leave? It's very small.
What a delightful and memorable morning. Delicious breakfast and enjoyable quality family time.
Fun, fun, fun.
Thanks for visiting. I will be back soon with more vacation photos.
Joyously,
Betty

Golfing with the Deer!

Hello everyone,
I hope you're having a beautiful weekend. I wanted to share more memories of our little trip to the Pacific Coast for my sweetheart's birthday.
I shared the beginning of our trip in my last post. HERE
We drove to Pacific Grove and enjoyed a wonderful day of golf and photography. I don't golf, but I sure love to ride in the golf cart and photograph the fabulous scenery. We started at the driving range for a couple of practice swings.
While at the driving range I spotted some deer leisurely eating in the back of the driving range. They don't seem very concerned about being hit with a ball.
Then I spotted the back side of a lighthouse. I knew at that moment it was going to be a glorious day for photography...
We then went to the putting green for a few putts. My sister and sweetheart are golfing with another couple. My brother-in-law is recovering from shoulder surgery and couldn't play golf.  He and I enjoyed driving the golf carts and watching the dear golfers and the deer.
Sweetheart contemplating the next shot. And of course the deer are close  grazing in the grass nearby.
As we went from one hole to the next I would see something interesting to photograph. How about a TWO MILLION DOLLAR HOUSE FOR SALE. I'll take one please. LOL
Around the corner at the next tee was the front of the lighthouse
I love lighthouses. They have so much history and they are always placed in the most interesting places. Like right in the middle of a golf course.  You know I'm kidding. The Point Pinos lighthouse was built in 1853-1854 one of the original seven to be built on the California coast.
Point Pinos Lighthouse was lit in 1855 to guide ships on the Pacific coast of California. It is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the West Coast of the United States and even the lens is original.Wikipedia
Lots of brush around the lighthouse and the deer love to nibble on the sage under the brambles. Peek-a-boo!
On the back nine holes of the Pacific Grove Links golf course are the most breath taking views of the Pacific Ocean. I love the waves splashing over the rocks and the white rocks against the beautiful blue ocean.
The weather was perfect. Actually spring time is the best time to visit the ocean. During the summer when the valley heats up the fog rolls in on the coast. I'm a valley girl, but I love to visit the ocean especially when the sky is blue and the clouds look puffy and cotton-like.
Hope you have enjoyed our day. Our next stop is going to be one of my favorite things to do.  I bet you can guess what it is.
Joyously,
Betty

Hello everyone,
I took a VACATION last week and now I would love to share with you some of the fun things I did and some fun things I saw.
We celebrated Sweetheart's 73rd birthday and took a little trip down the coast of California...We stayed a night in San Francisco and had a great dinner. The next morning we headed to Silicon Valley to visit my sister and brother-in-law. On Sunday I wanted to show my sister this great place is San Jose.
MOVE IT ELSEWHERE

  2. Take a look at the photos on the website for some real eye candy.

This is the attic...
I found a cute bunny and a white pitcher to add to my white collection.
More dishes
I could have stayed for hours, but with a couple of guys in their 70's no way.
This attic is just packed with goodies.
Isa is a French Restaurant in the Marina District of San Francisco  Go HERE
We sat in the heated patio and had a wonderful dinner. More fun to show you in my Sunday post.
Thanks for your comments and features about my new tea set.
I love you all.

Cozy's Guest Bedroom

Hi everyone,
It's overcast today. We've had some beautiful weather for February, but since it's going to be Spring on Friday...now the weather will turn cold. How's your weekend going? Last week Sweetheart and I took a mini vacation to celebrate ♥ a birthday. ( He turned 73 on March 10, 2015.)
Before we left on our trip I took some photos of our guest bedroom. I posted a close-up of my new tea set. HERE and now I want to share with you my cozy guest bedroom. A little bit of vintage and a little bit of cozy and comfy.
The queen size bed has the best mattress and a heated mattress pad. The lace edged sheets and pillow cases are snowy white. The patchwork quilt and shams I bought at Tuesday Morning.  I have a small vintage tea cart I use as the night stand.  A little glass lamp to read a favorite book. Soft towels and guest soaps in my mama's vintage basket. I have my mink hat in the round box. I think I bought the hat in the early 60's to wear to church on Sunday. Nobody wears hats to church much anymore. I sometimes wear it in the winter when the wind is blowing. I love my MINK HAT.
Slippers to put on after a day of seeing the sights.
My mama's statue of Our Lady of Fatima and my daddy's rosary in the glass dish sitting on top of the tea cart.
My vintage hats to wear to tea rooms.
A little vintage dress I found at the thrift store.
Remember this tea set from HERE?
I was surprised when I saw this photo of my tea set on my guest bed. Two tea sets. Gosh! I just love this.
My vintage dresser with the teddy bear my mom and dad gave me for my first Christmas on December 25,1941.
My mama's rosary and the dressing table mirror, brush, comb and jewelry box were a gift from my Sweetheart on our first married Christmas, December 25, 1960.

Hope you've enjoyed your visit to my Cozy Guest Bedroom.
This week I will be editing my vacation photos to share with you. See you soon.
Joyously,
Betty

St Patrick's Day Tablescapes

Hello everyone,
I was looking back at some of my St. Patrick's Day posts from the past and thought you might get a few ideas for setting a festive St. Patrick's Day table. I found a St. Patrick's Day tea cup with a delicious quick bread.
I loved decorating this table. The Bradford pear was in full bloom and the March day was sunny and warm. My green depression glass tea cups glistened in the morning sunlight.
Shamrocks and weed plates help celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Spring.
Gold rimmed plates and Shamrock salad plates with Shamrock handmade napkin rings. The three vases are from the Dollar Tree and vintage juice glasses from the 70's. And a pot of tea for my luncheon.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Joyously,
Betty
