Grateful Teatime

Hello everyone,
I just finished watching the World Series game and
decided to start typing my 'Grateful Teatime' for this
week's post.
It has been raining on and off for days, here in
Northern California. The rain is good, but I would
love to be outside putting my garden to bed for the
winter.
As you might know, I am doing tea time calendars
for Christmas gifts. This teatime is for the
month of October.
While decorating the patio for our Thanksgiving family
gathering I set this tea on the patio table.
The mums in the copper cup are from my garden.
The copper teapot was a gift from my son many
years ago.  I love the beautiful pumpkins~large and small.
The center pear teacup and saucer are Taylor Kent*England
The teacup and saucer on the left are Royal Albert Pears. The teacup
and saucer on the right are Golden Crown E & R England
Antique Fruit Series.
I set a brown and white throw on the table and added my new
tea towel I bought on my vacation to our son's wedding last month.
The patio is all decked out for the Thanksgiving holiday.
When the weather is in the 60's we turn on our heater
and watch football on the big television sitting in the corner.
I made pillow covers and added a different top to the swing.
The complete patio tour is coming up soon.
I love copper anytime of the year. But in the fall
it just goes together like bread and butter.
Pin a Mosaic.
Thank you for visiting.
I will be back soon to share
more of my patio.
Joyously,
Betty

Halloween Bits and Pieces

Hello everyone,
It's Sunday night.  I'm watching television and
writing this Halloween post.  I don't decorate a lot for Halloween
anymore because our granddaughters are
teenagers now.  I have a small vignette at my entryway
where we place the Halloween treats for the trick-or-treaters on
Halloween night.  I have had my spooky houses for a few years.
Last week I found a sparkly black tree.
I had some Halloween ornaments
I used on a tablescape a few years ago..
When the girls were little, they would run around the house
looking for the mice on the walls when they found one the girls
would laugh and giggle when they found find one.
Saturday afternoon I went to a sprinkle..(second baby shower)
The hostess decorated her front door with a fun Halloween
wreath. She told me it was easy to make one. I think it
is so cute and I think I could make one.
After the sprinkle, I decided to visit my favorite my
favorite store 'House of Design. They have
unique home decor and extraordinary floral designs.
I took photographs of the three witches with
my iPhone. They are VERY INTERESTING.

The more I look at the cute wreaths, the more I want one.
I found this one for $85.00, or I could make it.

Maybe next year. I will make one.
Have a great week.
Joyously,
Betty

Fall Wreath~Different Years

Hello everyone,
Wow, what can I say, I've been entertaining this past week.
Last Thursday I served my church ladies lunch and tea.
And Sunday afternoon my little sister came to visit for a
few days. We had a great time sharing memories
and planning a road trip for next spring.
I have been decorating the patio and took some
photos today. The weather was perfect.
The photos are in the editing stage and I will
share them sometime next week.
During 2011 and 2012 I was employed at Tuesday Morning.
When I retired in 2007, I was so happy to be at home.
By and by I grew tired of staying home.
I would shop Tuesday Morning and loved being
in the store.  (they have the cutest stuff)
One day I asked the manager if she would hire
me. She agreed to hire me for inventory. ( I was 70)
I stayed for two years.  What a great experience.
I loved my boss and all the customers.
The story about the wreath is I bought it
on clearance after Thanksgiving.
I have decorated, the same wreath with feathers and shiny ribbon.
Sunflowers and a burlap bow.
This September I bought a plaid bow at Michaels Craft store
and found a BIG "Y" at Walmart for a buck. I painted it
Butterscotch.
My Autumn wreath will hang until December 1st.
And then the Christmas season will begin.
I think this bow is my favorite.
I believe that it's fun to be thrifty.
There are many ways to change a wreath!
I forgot I used Indian corn too.
Thank you for visiting.
Have a great weekend.
Joyously,
Betty

October Tea Time

Hi friends,
I've been busy with my new computer this past week. And now
it's time for tea. The past couple of years I have been making
tea time calendars as Christmas gifts for friends and family.
The 2017 calendar will feature this photo for the month of September.

I wanted to feature my tea cup caddy and my chocolate pudding trifle.
I planted a few white gladiolus bulbs and
was delighted to have them bloom for
this post.
This Thursday I will be hosting a tea party for the
Altar Guild from my church. During the holidays
we have increased duties to perform. The Altar Guild
is responsible for providing clean linens, fresh flowers
and decorating the church for Advent and Christmas.
Rain is in the forecast for Thursday afternoon, but
we will be cozy in the dining room enjoying lunch and tea.
I have several tea sets, and I will be using this one and the teapot too.
For dessert. I will serve,
lemon squares
apple cheesecake with caramel sauce
and
brownies with chocolate candy bars melted on top.

Fall is a delightful time of the year to
host a friendly get-together.
Thank you for visiting, and please
come back soon.
Joyously,
Betty

Fall Mantel Before and After

Hi everyone,
I've been slow posting this past couple of weeks.
Hubby and I attended our son's wedding in September
and took a little vacation to where my father was born in 1917.
We stopped in Laughlin Nev. and then we drove to
All I can say is that the experience was a hoot.
Before I left for our trip, I did my fall decorating.
I bought new pillows for the sofa and
decorated the mantel for fall.
This summer was so busy I didn't have a chance to
share my summer mantel.  I love my plates and birds.
Now it's time for fall, and I love this year's look.
I finally found some pumpkin plates at TJMaxx.
I wanted to keep the mantel simple.  The orange
and different shades of autumn colors enhance
the color my brick fireplace.
Decorating my mantel is always a joy.  I love the
beautiful velvet pumpkin. Soft and colorful
is perfect for my simple look.
Last year I bought the jar jewelry for my mason jars.
I stored them away in my stash and this year I
fluffed them up a bit and sat them on the mantel.

October is going to be a busy one for this old lady.
Next week I will be entertaining my church
Altar Guild for tea and my sweet sister
is coming for a visit too. Sister Time.
Thank you for visiting.
Joyously,
Betty

October is Here!

Hello everyone,
Today is the first day of October, and I am busy cleaning our patio.
I have changed up the look of the patio swing and my little
bistro table. I will give you a tour later this week.
In the interim, I wanted to share some photos from
my archives.

These photos are from October 2015 Go Here to see
more fall inspiration in the complete post.
I am sure some of you bloggers at one time or
another have had computer problems. My five-year-old
computer stopped working last week and I had to buy a new one.
Transferring the data and setting it back up has kept me busy
this week.

I hope you are enjoying some cooler weather.  We
are going to be getting some cooler temps
next week. Yay! I will be in the garden.
First - the patio
Second - the garden

See you soon,
Betty
