April Garden Journal

APRIL GARDEN JOURNAL
Hello everyone
Hope you are having a wonderful week. It's time to post my monthly garden journal. I love to see how the garden progresses thru the year. The sun is in the prefect place to photograph the roses and a few new garden things I've added to the garden this year.

Inspiration for Master Bedroom

INSPIRATION PILLOW
French Country in the Master
Hello everyone,
I'm excited today, because I have a newly painted master bedroom. I will show you the BEFORE photos in another post, but now I want to share my inspiration for updating our master bedroom after 25 years. In 1990 we completely remodeled our home. Now after 25 years we are updating. In 2013 we updated the kitchen and dinning room. Now this year we are updating our master bedroom and living room. I have purchased this bedroom set. I bought a King size bed, two night stands and the chest of drawers.
The bedroom is painted accessible beige SW 7036
I ordered Mohawk Friendly Impressions Roasted Barley carpet.
For 25 years I've had a sliding glass door that goes out to our covered patio. Sweetheart suggested we buy a new door and now sweetheart will be installing the venting sidelite door on Sunday afternoon.
My inspiration for this update is this pillow I bought at Barnes and Noble.
Provence Script Cotton Blend Pillow 18" x 18"

I will be shopping for bedding when our bed arrives next week and I would like to find a nice comforter set in the neutral tones with a white dust ruffle and white sheers to the windows. I love the window coverings in this photo.

Lots of things are going on at My Cozy Corner. We moved our King size bed outside in the patio and have been enjoying sleeping under the stars...Sort of.
Monday the painter will paint the living room and I will have new sheers made for the two windows in the living room. We have had our new living room furniture since November of 2014. To see new furniture Go Here.  We did buy Papa another recliner. After two months the first one had broken down.
I will be back during the week with a post of our garden.
Joyously,
Betty

Down Memory Lane♥

Hi everyone,
I promised to show you where we stayed on our last night of our vacation last month. Capitola Venetian Hotel, Capitola, Ca.

This hotel has a special place in my heart. In 1960 my husband's family rented a large apartment and invited all the extended family and friends to spend a weekend in Capitola.  We lived in Santa Clara about 30 minutes away from the beach. When sweetheart and I arrived at the beach in the afternoon we did some sightseeing and for dinner my future father-in-law made a large pot of delicious beef stew. It was delicious and a perfect dinner at the beach.

I love the beautiful homes on the hill. I bet they have a killer view...
Let's take a walk on the pier.
At the end of pier is the Wharf House Restaurant.
The Wharf House offers sweeping views of Capitola Village and all of
 Monterey Bay.

More homes with a fabulous view.
Soquel Creek is next to the Venetian Hotel and in 1960 while walking around the village sweetheart and I rented a boat and rowed up the river in the afternoon before the wonderful dinner of beef stew and fresh bread.
HERE WE ARE ROWING UP THE RIVER. LOL!!! (1960)
Our dinner plans included eating at a cute British pub by the sea in Capitola Village. Another delicious dinner to remenber.
The sky was beautiful on the day we arrived, but the next morning it was cloudy and it was time to say good-by to our little hotel in Capitola.
The memories are just as bright today as the first day we spent at the Venetian Hotel in 1960.
A mosaic to capture our wonderful day.
Thank you for visiting My Cozy Corner
Joyously,
Betty

Iris Tea Time

Hi everyone,
I'm on a tea time marathon. The Iris are blooming and the scones are baked. While on vacation I bought The Tuck Box scone mix. The scone mix is a Scottish recipe made with buttermilk. It's soft and cake like and so delicious. I served it with The Tuck Box Olallieberry Spread and whipped cream. To see 'The Tuck Box' post go here.
My
Archive-Lavender Royal Albert Tea Set is the perfect color to match my Iris blooms.
I've poured a cup of tea for you...

Please have a Scottish scone with the best tasting spread.
Cream and sugar for your tea.
A vintage spreading knife from great-grandma...
The story of my wonderful vacation in March is almost over. I will be posting the hotel we stayed in on our last night before heading home and back to reality.
I found this wonderful vase at the Goodwill for $3.00 dollars.

I do love my Iris♥
Hope you have a wonderful weekend
Joyously,
Betty
