A Santa Party

Hello everyone,
Today is the 2nd of December and I'm on a roll.  I've been a busy girl for the past couple of weeks. On November 21st we had our annual church bazaar. I am so impressed with the talented women we have attending our church. I wanted to highlight one talented lady. This is the story of  how these adorable Santas were made...
During the year this talented lady refurbishes and creates beautiful Santas.
The santas are found at yard sales and private collections.  The santa below has
a beautiful fur shawl.  One of the ladies at church donated her fur coat and Carol sewed a beautiful fur shawl for this precious santa...
Some of the santas start with just a head and Carol has patterns for making santa clothes and embellishments to add to the beautiful outfits she designs and sews.
Each santa is different and the price for one santa ranges from $10.00 to $40.00 dollars.
I bought two small santas and I will be sharing them with you soon.
I just love looking at all the detail on each santa.
The detail on these santas is truly fabulous.
This is only a portion of the santas that were on sale at the bazaar. Simply amazing.
Well that's my santa party. I hope you enjoyed the santas and my friends talent.
Joyously,
Betty

THURSDAY FAVORITE THINGS BLOG HOP #214

Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop #214
Welcome.
Are you ready to party?
I am!!!
My favorite thing this week is the lavender I grow in my garden.  Each year our church has a bazaar the weekend before Thanksgiving. I gather my lavender together and make bath salts adding a vintage silver spoon to the bottle. I make lavender sachets and sell bulk lavender by the scoop. As you can see LAVENDER is my favorite thing this week. If we had smell added to a blog post you would be smelling the beautiful clean aroma of my lavender right now.

Lavender for Holiday Gifts

Hello everyone,
Gather your shopping bags it's almost Black Friday and we're all looking for the perfect gift to give family and friends this Holiday.  This year I made some handmade gifts from the lavender I grew in my garden this summer.
Lavender sachets, lavender bath salts and bouquets of 16 inch lavender stems. (50 stems per bouquet) I have plenty of lavender left over to make soap and candles when the busy Christmas season is over.

Lavender Bath Salts♥
homemade bath salts and silver plate spoons from the thrift store. The bath salts are in a net bag with three sprigs of lavender tied on top...with a lavender ribbon.

Lavender sachets are packaged in sheer net bags and linen bags.
A lavender iron on transfer is used to decorate the linen bags and tea towels.

Have a great weekend and I will back soon to share with you my holiday decorations.
Joyously,
Betty

Church Bazaar 2012

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to My Cozy Corner.
Each year, I prepare handmade items for our church's bazaar.
My lavender items sold before I had a chance to take a photo of the bath salts in the basket.
You can see some of the lavender bundles in the background and a few bath salts.
I love to make handmade dishcloths.
I knit one dishcloth in a couple of hours while watching television in the evening.
One lady bought all the dishcloths I had brought. I love use them in my kitchen, and I also give them away as hostess gifts wrapped around some jelly or a jar of flowers in the summertime.
Handmade Dishcloths are My Favorite Thing.
I had a few random ornaments around the house to sell.
The ladies would like me to bring more lavender next year.
Handmade Christmas pins and Dept 56 ornaments.
Odds and Ends
'I Believe' Magic Christmas Dust is always a hit.  I put oatmeal in a baggie and sell it for one dollar.
The small children spread it on their front lawn for the reindeer.
Our little Anglican Church did very well at the bazaar this year. Our ACW...Anglican Church Women are
 very proud of our success.

Come and join me while I hop to some parties.
