Zinnia Tea Time

Hello everyone,
I have been MIA for a couple of weeks.
I had cataract surgery on my left eye, and
it's difficult to see small print. My husband
has been so wonderful about putting drops in
my eyes, and on Thursday I will have the
 right eye done.
Today I have a beautiful set of teacups, saucers, and dessert dishes
on my tea table for the August page of my calendar.
My daughter-in-law inherited this lovely set when
her mother passed away. My DIL's grandmother vacationed in Norway
and brought this set home as a souvenir. I am blessed to be
the lucky custodian of the beautiful Norwegian dishes.
My Zinnias are blooming in the garden and
I wanted to have a bouquet for tea time.
The yellow zinnia is just outstanding.
The dog days of Summer are over, and now I am looking forward to
Autumn.  The temps have been over 100° for weeks, and I am
so ready to play in the garden and not get scorching hot before noon.
Hopefully, I will get back into the swing of things after Thursday's eye surgery.
Thanks for visiting.
Joyously,
Betty

Old Fashioned Apple Crisp

Hello everyone,
I promised Apple Crisp in my Apple dishes and here it is...A few days ago I posted
 'Apple Tea Time' Go Here
Yum!! I warmed the Apple Crisp in the microwave and put some whipped cream on top. So good♥
My 'First Love' silverware with the harp shaped fork tines.
The hydrangeas are so colorful...
I found this tea towel at the thrift store. Apple Crisp is kind of  like Apple Pie, but without the crust.
The dishes are a clear glass button salad plate, yellow salad plate from the Dollar Tree and a glass apple dessert dish from Tuesday Morning.

PRODUCE STAND

Hello everyone,
The taste of fall from my garden. I picked my grapes, some lavender and a few other goodies...
Welcome to my Produce Stand on the back porch.
The apples and pears came from a friend's ranch. And the tomatoes, grapes and lavender are from my garden. The green olives are from our olive tree.
I picked an artichoke bloom I forgot to pick when it was ready to eat a few weeks ago.
These are two favorite fruits  I love grapes and pears. I wash the grapes and eat them chilled. The pears are delicious made into Rustic Pear Tart Go Here and I make a Pear Chutney that goes nicely with pork or add as a condiment to curry.
We have a few tomatoes to make cold Mexican Gazpacho soup.
I set my table with a vintage tablecloth and found an old wooden fruit box. The lavender is dry and ready to make wonderful items our Christmas bazaar in November.
I won this nice basket last Saturday at a convention I attended. It was a garden basket full of garden goodies. Now it's my apple basket.
I'm going to be baking some apple bread and old fashioned apple crisp that I've
have been baking for over 50 years.
Life is wonderful and I am so grateful for everything today.

This garden decor was one of the cute things in the  garden basket I won.

4th of July Party

Happy 4th of July everyone,
I've been playing this week with my granddaughters. We have been shopping for summer clothes for their trip to Hawaii in a couple of weeks. The two girls that live here are going to meet their two cousins that live in So Cal for a week's vacation in Maui. I told them they only need a bathing suit and shorts, but they want MORE.  Before we went shopping one of my granddaughters helped me photograph this blog post.
I found two flag bandanas at Wal Mart for $1.97 each. They are 21 x 21 each. I made this pillow to celebrate the 4th of July.
I have some pink lemonade ready to drink.
This pillow I made from a banner I bought at the dollar tree and for the back of the pillow I used a piece of the tablecloth I used on my patio swing pillow.HERE
Flag plates and red flatware are ready for a snack.
A little a festive decoration on the patio for the 4th of July.
My flag tray and a bouquet of red, white and blue flowers from my garden. While we were taking these photos the temperature was almost 110 degrees at eleven o'clock in the morning. My granddaughter and I had perspiration running down our brows...but we kept clicking. LOL!

I hope you are safe this holiday and have a wonderful 4th of July celebration.
We are so blessed to live in a beautiful and free country.
Thank you for visiting My Cozy Corner today.
Joyously,
Betty

*Tea by the Sea*

Hello everyone,
How's was your 4th of July weekend. We had a marvelous holiday weekend... Friday evening we went a friend's home to see the fireworks. She has a perfect view of the fireworks over the Sacramento River.
The weather has been in the triple digits for a couple of weeks now and I would love to take a trip to a white, sandy beach resort for a couple of days to cool off for awhile. Walking along a beach with my toes in the sand.  Picking up sea shells and pieces of drift wood. Looking for beach glass would be fun too.
Under the pergola is great place to have a tea scape...Oh, I mean a Sea scape... My Thompson seedless grapes are almost ready to pick and the Garden Party roses are blooming beautifully.
My gladiolus are blooming and I thought they would look wonderful with my sea scape.
When I started to think about the sea I knew I would like to find some shell napkin rings. While my granddaughter and I were in Orchard Supply looking for small lights to hang on the pergola we spotted these sea shell napkin rings.  Bingo! Now I wanted to find some sea shell napkins. Then I remembered I had these napkins that I found at my favorite thrift shop a couple of years ago. I've been waiting for the perfect time to use them. The colors work great.
Now to the seashore to find some colored glass that has washed up on the shore. I lived on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in the early years of my marriage. We lived in Fort Bragg, California a little coastal town next  to Mendocino. In the late 60's Mendocino county was not as famous as it is today. Here

While we lived in Fort Bragg we would go to the beach and search for colored glass...There was one spot where an old dump had been and the beach was covered with the most beautiful different colored pieces of colored glass.  What a wonderful experience it was. I needed to find some colored glass. While shopping in World Market I found a bag of colored glass and couldn't resist putting it in my tea  cups. The tea cups came from Tuesday Morning when I worked there. I have a set of 6 for $3.99. They were on clearance and I do love my thrifty finds.

While in World Market I found a bag of drift wood and shells. Of course I wanted to put them in my cloche.
A view into the garden.
The place mats are from the Dollar Tree. I love orange and blue together.
The sea shell dish was the inspiration for this 'Tea by the Sea' table.
I found four shell dishes at the thrift store for $4.00. They were $8.00 dollars, but it was their ½ off sale. They are vintage Dansk International Designs LTD France.  The blue dinnerware is from the Dollar Tree and the flatware is from Walmart.

Sea shells and a warm sunny day...
Thanks for visiting,
Joyously,
Betty
