Summer Tea Time

Hello everyone,
I love the colors of late summer.
Despite the smoke and from our forest fire. Go here
The roses have a few blooms and are trying to survive.
I still have my Paris vacation on my mind, and wanted to add a
photo of a souvenir tea towel I carried home in my suitcase.
The Eiffel Tower is amazing. We enjoyed a picnic lunch
on the second floor at 58 Tower Restaurant.
This photo is for August 2019 Tea Time calendar.
The teacups are Johnson Brothers and my great-grandmother's
sterling silver teaspoon with her monogram on the handle.
We visited the sights written on the tea towel.
We visited Disneyland Paris, Eiffel Tower,
Versailles, Louvre, Trocadero, and rode the double-decker bus.
On our last night in Paris, we cruised down the Seine River
and watched the Eiffel Tower light up at midnight.
We did much more than I have shared,
but I will write about that in upcoming posts.
Thank you for visiting My Cozy Corner.
Joyously,
Betty

July Tea Time

Hello everyone,
I am so happy to be posting today.
The past few weeks I've been traveling.
In my last post, I mentioned I was going to
Paris, France for a vacation with my daughter and
two granddaughters. Oh my gosh
the trip was fantastic and more fun and
interesting than I could have imagined.
I'm sorting through the photos, designing a travel scrapbook
and a calendar of Paris highlights.

Vintage linen and Great-grandma's silver.
Today I am sharing my July 2019 Tea Time calendar vignette.
The Hydrangeas are from my garden.
The teacups are Queen Anne, Royal London, Regency Harebell.
All three teacups were made in England.
My teacup collection is expanding monthly.
~I love to collect~
Always a mosaic.
Thank you for visiting today.
Joyously,
Betty

June Tea Time

Hello everyone,
June is in full swing today. So far this month I celebrated my
77th. Birthday. This teacup was a gift from my oldest son and his
family a couple of years ago as a birthday gift.
The flowers on the teacup look similar to my peonies. Speaking of
peonies,  The peonies in this bouquet are the last peonies of the season.
They don't last very long, but what a joy they bring to my heart.
Every bloom reminds me of my mother.  These are my
mother's plants I transplanted in my yard in 2012 after her passing.
The next exciting event was our third granddaughter graduating from
high school with honors and being accepted to a University
in California starting in the fall.
Shall we celebrate with a cup of tea? Yippiee.
Moving on to the next exciting event for June was
attending the wedding of our first granddaughter. What a beautiful
wedding and fun party celebrating the bride and groom with
dancing and photos of our entire family (16 so far) and
our second granddaughter is planning her wedding.
Now, remember today is only June 13th. I still have more exciting news.
Do you see the Eiffel Tower next to the teacup?
Well, I am going to Paris for a week on vacation.
Paris has been on my bucket list for years and
I am so excited to be going with my daughter
and two of my granddaughters. We are going
to experience Paris in all its glory.
I don't know how I am doing all this at my age,
but I keep putting one foot in front of the other
and move forward.  I am truly blessed.
Thanks for stopping by for a visit.
I have six months finished for my 2019 calendar.
Every time I look at June, I will be reminded of
the whirlwind of activities I enjoyed.
I will keep you posted on Instagram.
Joyously,
Betty

My Grandmother's Tea set

Hello everyone,
It's Sunday evening, and I am sitting in the living room watching the
2018 Olympic Games and writing the story of my Paternal Grandmother's tea set.
The photos are from the selections I used for January 2019 Tea Time calendar.
January I am featuring my Lenten Rose flowers from my winter garden
and my grandmother's tea set and garden scissors.
As you browse from one photo to another,
you will see different styles with the cups
and the flowers. I try several methods and check
where my eye goes the moment I look at
the photo on the computer
The golden scissors with the detail on the handles and the delicately embroidered
tea towel and the lenten rose with a bud on the stem makes an eye-catching statement.

The tea set is a gift from my mother. My paternal grandmother inherited the tea
set from her mother-in-law (my great-grandmother) They are marked RS Prussia on the back
I have six dessert plates and six teacups and six saucers.
The teacups, saucers and dessert plates are displayed on the wall in my guest room.

I dearly treasure my inherited gift.
Thank you for visiting today
Have a great week.
Joyously,
Betty

December Tea Time

Hello everyone,
Welcome to December and My Cozy Corner.
"A Cup of Christmas Tea"
This is the December photo of my 2018 Tea Time Calendar.
I received so much pleasure from styling my tea scapes, and I hope my
friends and family will enjoy my Tea Time calendar.
Would you like to have A Cup of Christmas Tea?
When I found this cup at the thrift store, I knew
just how I wanted the photograph to look.
I wanted to have the bokeh effect in my photo and

I think I accomplished the task.
I did some research about the teacup and saucer.
  •  Green Holly, Red Berries, Gold Trim
  • Pattern: A Cup of Christmas Tea by Waldman House
  • Status: Discontinued. Circa: 1981 - 2005
I have Holly growing in my garden,
and I picked fresh Holly
with berries for the white milk glass vase.
My great-grandmother's vintage teaspoon
A red Holly berry candle lights up
Cup of Christmas Tea.
One more look at the delightful tea scape.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thanksgiving Day Tea Time

Hello, everyone,
Wow, we are fifteen days into November, and I wanted
to share my Thanksgiving Tea Time tablescape.
The beautiful flickering votive candle is the centerpiece
with the traditional Turkey and berries.
An Acorn teaspoon is symbolic of fall, and the
gold trimmed teacup and saucer are a
thrift store purchase. The dessert plate is
French Limoges. They look so similar I paired them
together for the elegant look of high tea.

My sister and brother-in-law visited a few weeks ago, and they brought
a gift of gratitude to me.
The oak leaf shaped white dish with gold trim and a salt and pepper
shaker in the shape of Acorns. I love the thought and the gift. Very cute.
Mr. Turkey is sparkling in the light of the candle.
I found him at my favorite store "Tuesday Morning."
I have finished my 2018 Tea Time calendar, and it will be available on December 1st.
One of these photos will be featured in November.

Hope you have a wonderful holiday,
and if you are traveling I will be praying for your
safety. See you soon.
Joyously,
Betty

A Casual Tea Time

Hello everyone,
It's Tea Time again.
I am putting the final touches on my 2018 Tea Time Calendar.

A decorative white teapot from Tuesday Morning and I am going
to try and keep this new African Violet alive for more than a week. LOL!
When I retired from work in 2007, I decided to collect tea sets.
I wanted to have my lady friends over for tea and wanted to
set the table with matching tea sets. Now after all these years my love is
collecting a single teacup and saucer made in England.
But this tea set is one of my favorites, and I love
anything lavender.
I have posted this tea set before. HERE and HERE
The tea set is discontinued  'Lavender' Archive Collectable Teas, Royal Albert, Bone China.
The milk glass vase is a candy dish given to me as a gift from
a dear friend. She had many pieces of milk glass from her
father's estate. I am the proud recipient of the fabulous milk glass.
Lavender, lavender galore.

October Tea Time

Hello everyone,
Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins. I just love pumpkins.
It's time for another tea time. October is so amazing. The colors are
warm, but the weather is cool. When I started styling my tea time tablescape
I used my new tea towel. Pumpkins and sunflowers embroidered on a white linen background.
My orange velvet pumpkin adds softness to my design.
Radfords Fenton England"The Gatineau"Tea Cup and Saucer
Made in England.
Sedum Autumn Joy is in full bloom in my garden this month.  I
adore the color and texture of sedum.  A small crock is used
to keep the photo in the 8 x 10 frame for my calendar page.
A pumpkin napkin holds my handmade sparkly autumn leaf napkin.
My flower chintz teacup and saucer with gold trim is so perfect for the fall season.

It is so difficult to choose a favorite style.

I love to create a mosaic for my Pinterest board PIN IT
Have a great week.  I hope to be back soon.
Joyously,
Betty
