Tulip Tea Time

Hello everyone,
This is the last day of February, and leap year.
It's tea time here at My Cozy Corner today.
I have a new pinterest board where I'm posting
my tea cup collection. I hope by the end of 2016
I will have most of the collection photographed.
This tea cup and saucer has a dessert plate. I have two sets.
My garden is clear of debris.
I wanted some Spring flowers for this
post and Safeway grocery store has the most
beautiful green house flowers for the best price.
I love tulips and the way they droop down
the sides of the vase.
Pink shortbread cookies for tea.
While shopping at K Mart for new Spring bedding,
I found the lace runner and two lace place mats for
$2.00 dollars.

I'm using the place mat as a napkin.

One of my favorite tea pots.
I found this tea pot a T.J. Maxx
Spring is going to be here soon.

I love  your beautiful comments, and I'm looking forward to
a beautiful Spring garden.
Hope you have a great week.
Joyously,
Betty

Breakfast in Bed

Hello everyone,
Today is a beautiful day @ My Cozy Corner.
I worked in my garden last week...
I would go outside for 2 1/2 hours everyday for
seven days in a row. The weather was warm and
sunny. The trees are in bloom and the garden is
ready for Spring.
Being 75 years old in June I needed to
take a day off.
"Breakfast in Bed"
I retired to my retreat and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast.
Fresh brown soft boiled egg...yogurt with blackberries
and raspberries, and English muffins spread with
BUTTER.
Blue and White is so restful. I love my blue and white tea pot.
The egg cups were my mother's treasures.
I love English muffins and yogurt too.
I needed some pampering after weeding and pruning.
After breakfast I took a nice long nap.

My Camellia tree is in full bloom.
One more look until next time.

Thank you for visiting today.
I love to share tea with you
anytime.

Joyously,
Betty

Winter White Tea Time

Hello everyone,
Today is Monday, February 15th.
Did you have a lovely Valentine's Day?
Sweetheart and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day.
We worked in our garden in the afternoon.
I received a beautiful card and a bouquet of roses.
Sweetheart cooked an amazing Lobster dinner
and we watched Downton Abbey my favorite series.
I love Valentine's Day.
Now it's time to share with you my
Winter White Tea Time

Last year while on a trip to the coast for our Wedding Anniversary
I bought my knitted tea cozy. When we were vacationing in Quebec, Canada
I found the darling knitted hat in a shop at the Hotel Chateau Frontenac.
I love the cable stitch on my tea cozy and hat, so I wanted to have a cup cozy with cable stitch too.
I found a pattern on the Internet with the knitted cable stitch.
I got busy and knitted this precious cup cozy
with a vintage button closure.
To add to the sparkle of my Winter White tea I baked some cupcakes.
Sparkles on the top of the cupcakes remind me of glistening snow.
I found a knitted cable stitch plate at Michaels Craft store
on clearance for a dollar. I couldn't pass it up.
My tea table is ready to enjoy  Winter White Tea Time
I found a beautiful cable knitted scarf at T. J. Maxx and
the little white gloves I found at Joann's fabric store for a dollar.
The sun was shining in the window on my Winter White Tea Time.
I also found two cable knitted pillows at K Mart to
put in my wicker chairs.  Another cozy spot to sit on a
winter day...Looking out to the garden and dreaming of
the beautiful spring weather we will be enjoying this
time next month.

Hope you enjoyed visiting My Cozy Corner
I love drinking a cup of tea and eating a treat in the afternoon.
Joyously,
Betty

Valentine Cookies and a Story

Hello everyone,
This Sunday is Valentine's Day and
It's a very special day for me.
Sweetheart and I were engaged on Valentine's Day in
1960. To see my engagement ring Go Here. I scanned
the photo from our Wedding photo album. In those days
Wedding photos were taken in Black and White. Our
photos have turned a little yellow over the years, but our
love is just as fresh as it was 56 years ago.

To celebrate our special day, we have
dinner at home and when we were younger
we would put on our favorite dance music and
dance in our kitchen later in the evening.
A box of chocolates and flowers are my gifts
I usually don't give sweetheart a gift...
because he has ME.
~LOL~
During Christmas I was making Lemon Bars and I had a little
shortbread dough leftover... I put the dough in the freezer until
last week when I baked a few heart shaped cookies with a hole
in the center to put a straw through.

I made the frosting thick as syrup and poured it over the cookies.
Let the cookies sit on a rack for six hours or overnight.
Confectioners sugar and milk
with a VERY SMALL AMOUNT of
red food coloring.

Sweethearts (also known as conversation hearts)
are small heart-shaped sugar candies sold around
Valentine's Day. Each heart is printed with a message such
as "Be Mine", "Kiss Me", "Call Me", "Let's Get Busy",
and "Miss You". Sweethearts are made by the
New England Confectionery Company, or Necco
A similar type of candy is sold in the UK under the name
Love Hearts. Necco manufactures
nearly 2 billion Sweethearts per year.[1] source
