Pumpkin Pillow Love

Hello everyone,
November is gratitude month.  The entire month I
acknowledge what I am grateful for each morning.
This week I've been busy watching the World Series
and cleaning my craft(crap) room. I am finishing up
scrapbooks for 2010 and 2011. When I started to blog
in 2010, I began to record our vacations and family activities on
My Cozy Corner Blog eliminating the reason to scrapbook.
Last week I finished decorating our farmhouse patio and
I want to share my serious love os seasonal pillows.

I  purchased a piece of 9' by 12' drop cloth used to cover surfaces when painting at Walmart in the hardware department.   I made this pumpkin pillow cover from part of one drop cloth.

Last year I purchased the two gray flannel throws. GO HERE
This September at Walmart I found two blue and black plaid
throws $2.50 each.
I covered the top of the swing with one blue and black throw and
made two pillow covers for the swing and one pillow
cover for the chaise lounge with the other throw.
Total redo $5.00.
I love to work with iron-on-transfers for pillow designs.
I chose the pumpkin seed package for my pillow because
my hubby brought the big beautiful multi-colored pumpkin on the table
home from the grocery store one day and it was
my inspiration.
The pumpkin seed package is the iron-on-transfer
I chose for my farmhouse Patio Pumpkin pillow.
PPP...just a little humor.
Before I iron the transfer on the front of
my pillow cover, I need to flip it.
Or mirror the image.
Instructions for flipping the image are on
the back of the transfer paper I buy
from the office supply store.
Ta-Da a new pillow cover.

Golden  Mums brighten up the Patio during the month of November.

Pillow Love*Fall Delight

Hello everyone,
I have been on a little vacation, and I just got home today.
I was going to publish this post on Monday, but I
didn't get around to it.  I have some photos of my trip I will share
later this week.
This week is the beginning of Fall, and
before I left, I did a little fall decorating.
I love to open my Autumn storage boxes and discover
my favorite decor all over again.
To see last year's fall decor Go Here.
I started first by changing out the pillows on the sofa.
During the fall and winter, I have soft faux fur
pillows at each end. Last month
I bought two sunflower pillow covers
on Amazon.
I have a Pillow Love board on Pinterest,
and most of the pillows are pillow covers
 I design and sew.
You  Are My Sunshine pillow is in the center.
I decorated The end tables with pumpkins in cloches.
I tossed the center pillow over to the solid side.
I think I like the other side better, and the velvet
pumpkins adorn my coffee tables I bought last year.
The pumpkins are so easy to decorate
with, and they are perfect for the Fall season.
During Thanksgiving, I will add a few turkeys.
After Thanksgiving, the Christmas decorations
will be pouring out of the storage boxes.
The artificial lantern bush branches are in my
favorite bottle.  You can see my furry pillows on the sofa
and all my Fall Delight.

Spring Pillow Love Before and After

Hello everyone,
It's time for more pillow love.
To see Before go here.
I have taken off the winter flannel sheets
and put the holiday handmade pillow and
sheets in winter storage.
It's time to chang up the house for Spring.
I started in the Master Bedroom
and this is the new Spring look.
I put on plum colored sheets and
king size pillow cases.
My new handmade pillow is the
heart shaped button pillow.
I did make the crown pillows a couple
of years ago.
The winter sheets were getting a little warm
and I found these soft plum sheets on sale
a couple of months ago.
I have a little heart shaped grape vine wreath
above our bed and I wanted to make a
pillow to match. Very romantic.
The pillow is made from drop cloth I buy
at Walmart. The pillow is a folded slip on cover
with a feather insert. I bought a felt heart at the
Dollar Tree in February for my pattern.
I have collected buttons for years, and
I had enough buttons to glue three rows of different sizes
and different shades of buttons on my heart outline.
The best glue I found to use for this project is fabric tacky glue.
After gluing the buttons on the pillow. I left it on
the table without moving it until the next morning.
I picked some roses for the night stand.
One of my ideas was to use this plum and white
french print pillow, but I like my crown pillows
better.  The small pillow covered with pearls is a
thrift store find.
Another look at the bed with the
bed spread covering the pillows.

This is reality...In the evening before we go to bed
I turn the nightstand lamps on low and it looks so
cozy.~

Cozy Pillows for Winter

Hello everyone,
I promised to share with you my cozy pillows.
COZY with birds on a branch
The pillow was a Christmas gift
from my granddaughters.
They buy for the blog...I love them so much.
My cozy pillow is surrounded by repurposed pillows.
The faux fur pillows on the end of the sofa were accessory pillows
on the sofa. Before the holidays
I bought a 50" x 60" throw at Target for $24.99.
Last week I cut the throw into two separate pieces and
sewed the edges together by hand. If I want
to change the pillows I will just cut the bottom seam open
and remove the pillows and make new pillow covers
The gold print pillows are pillow covers I bought at Walmart last year.
The dark brown pillows I bought on clearance after the holidays at
Walmart for $4.99 each. Now my sofa is very cozy and comfy.
A closer look at my coffee table vignette
I love my new pillows and they are so cozy.
When the fire is burning and I snuggle up on the sofa
I LOVE my home.
Now I have living room pillow love and Cozy pillows for Winter.

Living in Winter Comfort

Hello everyone,
Let's get cozy @ My Cozy Corner.
Let's continue my Winter home tour. The mantel is decorated for winter Go Here
I brought in oak wood for the fireplace. We have lived in our home since 1968 and
1990 was our last remodel. In the past three years we have updated the living room, master bedroom
and kitchen-dining room.  I want to share our kitchen update soon.
But today it's all about the living room in the Winter.
We spend most of daily living in our living room We have a large television and two
nice big recliners to sit comfortably across from the fireplace.
I have a blend of elements that make our room feel cozy and inviting.
Brass lamps, wood paneling and things that bring back fond memories.
Candle and Yuletide Camellias make
a colorful vignette on my coffee table.
I have a real fir tree in a little red pot and a
vase filled with silver tipped pine cones
and glass mercury bird on top. And my favorite thing is my
new COZY  pillow I received as a gift for Christmas.
Last week I added more cozy pillows and with our new
Roasted Barley carpeting installed last Spring our home
has a warm and Cozy feeling.
What a big difference from the holiday decorations, a month ago.
