Spicy Tea Time

Hello everyone,
It's time for tea and seasonal scents. Pomanders releases a rich scent of orange and spices. Whole cinnamon sticks can be used to stir the warm apple cider tea.
The aroma in the dining room is amazing and the tablescape spells "HOLIDAYS"
The April Cornell napkins are the perfect blend to a spicy tea time. The yellow flatware accents the beautiful rust, blue and red tones in the pretty napkins.
I love to dream up my tablescapes. A little of this and a little of that. The clear tea cups are so versatile. I used them this summer outside for my tablescape "Tea by the Sea" HERE
I visited my favorite shop last month and bought three faux pics for this centerpiece. I added three long cinnamon sticks and Ta-Da a wonderfully easy and smell good centerpiece.
Here we are sitting by the window in my dining room. Enjoying tea. The dinner plates from my mother's estate and the salad plates are RL.

The pomanders are easy to make. Use a toothpick to puncture the oranges, then fill each hole with a clove to create a pattern.
'Faithful friends who are dear to us, gather near to us once more.
Through the years we all will be together, if the fates allow.'
Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Hugh Martin...
I have a few more posts before I open the Christmas boxes...We are busy around My Cozy Corner choosing, carpet and paint for our living room. Our sofa will delivered next week and I will give you a peek.
Have a great week
Joyously,
Betty

Autumn Leaves

Hello everyone,
Fall is Here!  The leaves are starting to fall.  And just the slightest breeze the leaves come floating down to the ground. Also the  weather is now into the high 80's. It's so much easier to come outside and take some photos of my Fall or Autumn tablescape and capture the coziness of the patio...
The inspiration for my tablescape today is the napkin rings.
I've been thrifting again, and found these metal napkin rings. I think they look like leaves. Sometimes I see things other people don't see, but that's why I love to blog.  I have my own space to play stylist and be a story teller.

Autumn colors are the focus of the place setting. Basic white salad plate is perfect to hold the colorful napkin.
Muted green dinner plate
The trotted over to the Dollar Tree and picked up these wonderful felt Autumn Leaf place mats. I might use these again soon. The fall season is so short, before we get busy with all our Christmas decorating. The gold flatware I found at the antique store.
I found the festive green and white napkins on clearance at my very favorite store. (Tuesday Morning)
The stem glasses are a treasure. My sister gave me this set of hand painted stemware a few years ago. When I started blogging I used these glasses in a tablescape. HERE.
The pomegranate tree is producing some wonderful tasting fruit right now. I cut three small pomegranates off for this photo. When I brought the fruit into the house and put them on the kitchen counter about 20 ants(big) ran all over. I am now called the ant whisperer. LOL!
Thanks for visiting today and hope you are enjoying some cooler weather too.
Joyously,
Betty

Woodsy Tea Time

Hello everyone,
Welcome to my Woodsy Tea.
I love the fall air and the falling leaves. The plaid blanket is a perfect table cover for serving tea. The Tea cup and saucer have a Pheasant and a Mallard Duck on the front and back side.
The grape vine wreath and red accents add to the glory of Fall.
The wooden napkin rings give the tablescape a woodsy feeling.
We're outside again under the pergola enjoying the last days of fall. The weather will soon be cooler and I'll be putting the garden to bed for the winter.
But we can sit awhile and enjoy the last days of Fall.
With the birds circling the saucers, the wooden handled knife and red handled teaspoon make a great match for an outdoorsy look.
Burgundy mums from my garden
This oil lamp came from my mother's estate. I love it so much.
Tea cup and saucer bought at the thrift store last Fall

Hope you've enjoyed my Woodsy Tea

Autumn Pumpkin Tea

Happy Monday everyone,
The weather has warmed up again in Northern California. This weekend I wanted to capture the beautiful Autumn colors in my garden, so I decided to set a tea table under the pergola. It's late afternoon and the trees and flowers are in full Autumn glory...
If you are a new visitor, I want to welcome you to My Cozy Corner.
I hope you enjoy your visit.
The beautiful pumpkin colored mums in the vase are from my garden. I have another mum bush the color of the purple plum tree, but now I want to enjoy the versatile use of pumpkins. To see more pumpkins  Go Here

I purchased these pumpkins for their beautiful stems. I have other plans for the stems later, but now I'm having a blast using these little pumpkins in many different ways.
The inspiration for this tablescape or Tea table are the pumpkin napkin rings. I found them a few years ago in the thrift store and they are perfect for this table setting.
The beautiful table cloth is 64" wide and 96" long. I bought this beauty in my favorite thrift shop for $6.00. Amazing...
Charger is from Dollar Tree
White dinner plate
White basket weave salad plate is our everyday over 25 years old
