Lilac Spring Tea Time

Hello everyone,
We have had a rainy month in April. The garden is blooming, and my Lilac
bush gave me a bouquet of beautiful blossoms.  I am working on my 2018
calendar and I have chosen one of these photos for the month of April.
The cups are "Shelley."
Primrose Chintz
I found this adorable blue and yellow chintz teacup at a thrift store.
I love to style my tea time photos
Begonia
This green Shelley teacup was a gift from a friend. She inherited the teacup from her father,
and when he passed away, I became the new owner.
A little flower vase was another thrift store find.
Fabulous stacked teacups ready to save to my Pinterest board.
Hope you enjoyed the Lilac Spring Tea Time.
Next week I hope to be in the garden and styling another
tea time with the beautiful roses blooming on the
bushes.
Thank you for visiting,
Joyously,
Betty

April Garden Journal

Hello everyone,
Wow!!! It"s been awhile since I've posted on my blog.
The last time I posted was about two weeks ago.
I've been busy setting up for my two-day garage sale.
It takes me a week to get ready for the sale.
I have just finished disposing of my mother's
treasures.  She passed away in November 2012, and it
took me four and a half years to process my grief
I had dishes, nick knacks, linens and household items.
The weather has been rainy, and I need to get outside and
weed two more flower beds. I did walk outside yesterday
and took a few photos of my garden in April.
"Coral Bells"
"Pigs Squeak Plant"
This week I am busy playing with my husband at Car Show and Shines.
We have a 1937 modified Chevrolet, which we enter in a cruise ride
this Friday night. The good old days are here again.
We love to participate in vintage car shows.
"Indian Chief" Heirloom Iris
We moved into this house in 1969, and I met a fellow growing
patent Iris, I gathered up a cardboard box of bulbs to
plant in the same place they grow today.
INDIAN CHIEF, 1929
With velvety, wine-red falls and glowing standards of raspberry to bronze, this tall, striking, Jazz Age iris is one of the most colorful we grow. It’s exceptionally vigorous, too, thriving on neglect in old gardens everywhere and blooming even in part shade. By the good Dr. Wylie Ayres
This is my new favorite plant. I have tried to grow Clematis forever.
I bought a plant last summer and was so surprised when I saw
the first bloom this spring. Every day another bloom opens up.

"White Eden Climber"

EDEN CLIMBER

Climbing Rose
Rounded, deeply cupped, full flowers of creamy white and suffused with pink most intensely at the edge of the rose.
Time for tea in the Rose Garden. (When it stops raining) with my angel.
I have pinned "April Garden Journal" on Pinterest.
Thank you for visiting.
Joyously,
Betty
