St Patrick's Day Tea Time

Hello everyone,
Spring is almost here, and my daffodils are trying to survive the warm and cold
spells we keep experiencing here in Northern California. I found
my precious vintage Aynsley Porcelain Shamrock Clover
teacup and saucer from England at my favorite antique shop last month.

My daffodils are standing in an ironstone creamer from the same antique shop.
I could spend many hours and a ton of money in the precious place.

The old tea leaves spoon has been in my family since I was a small child.
When I was young, it would be a special treat to be able
to use the precious spoon for my
cup of tea.
A tea bag holder, a beaded napkin ring, and gold trimmed napkin
captures St. Patrick's Day Tea Time.
A mosaic is a visual gift of my favorite teacup and saucer for
March.
Hope you enjoyed your visit
see you soon.
Joyously,
Betty

St. Pat's Tea Time

Hello everyone,
Thursday is St. Patrick's Day. I love to celebrate St. Pat's day,
because 52 years ago I had my second son on the 16th of March,
I was in the hospital on St. Patrick's Day enjoying green jello.
He is the most wonderful son and he is amazing
today...52 years later.
Lucky Me.
I love Forsythia. I have planted a shrub, but it will be a few years
before it is large enough to cut long stems to bring into the house.
My green depression glass cup and saucer are
perfect for this holiday tablescape.
Sea foam green napkin ring with my handmade white napkins
and green napkins add to the different shades green on my tea table.
While shopping at Tuesday Morning last Sunday,
I purchased these cabbage leaf bowls. The plates are
from the Martha Stewart collection from years ago.
The vintage flatware is from my great-grandmother's
collection. The spoons have her monogram on the handle.
Red velvet cupcakes are ready for my granddaughters
to consume after school this week.
Vintage L.E. Smith moon and stars is used for my vase.
We can never have to much 'Good Luck' can we?
More shamrocks...

A mosaic to pin

Hope you have a Happy Saint Patrick's Day celebration.
We are going to have corned beef and cabbage dinner
on Thursday evening and plenty of leftovers.
See you soon.
Joyously,
Betty

St Patrick's Day Tablescapes

Hello everyone,
I was looking back at some of my St. Patrick's Day posts from the past and thought you might get a few ideas for setting a festive St. Patrick's Day table. I found a St. Patrick's Day tea cup with a delicious quick bread.
I loved decorating this table. The Bradford pear was in full bloom and the March day was sunny and warm. My green depression glass tea cups glistened in the morning sunlight.
Shamrocks and weed plates help celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Spring.
Gold rimmed plates and Shamrock salad plates with Shamrock handmade napkin rings. The three vases are from the Dollar Tree and vintage juice glasses from the 70's. And a pot of tea for my luncheon.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Joyously,
Betty

Birds of a Feather Flock Together Tablescape

Hello everyone,
No truer words were said...Birds of a Feather Flock Together. Yes, We Do!
I photographed this tablescape yesterday morning and after lunch I was planting in the garden. I don't usually plant annuals, but this year because of the garden tour I'm planting of instant color.
Now back to tablescaping. I won a gift certificate from French Bleu Vintage a few years ago and I picked this vintage bird cage. My little birds have another home outside in the patio, but they consented to come inside for couple of days. LOL
March is a busy month at My Cozy Corner. On Sunday we had a family dinner for Sweetheart. He is now 72 years old. Between birthdays and garden I'm one busy old lady. This jeweled napkin ring caught my eye at the thrift store about a month ago. I didn't by them at that time.  $2.00 silly me. Then I was thinking they would look nice with this table. I hopped in the car and ran over to the thrift store. I couldn't find them anywhere. Finally I asked and there they were just waiting for me to bring them home.
I love birds. When we first moved into our home the back yard was very different looking. HERE We had chickens and loved the fresh eggs each morning for breakfast while the children were growing up. Oh yes, our middle son will be 50 this Sunday. We're going out to dinner and celebrate our Patrick's birthday. He was born the day before St. Patrick's Day. What was I going to do. I had to name him Patrick. Besides I love the name. Well I sure did get off the topic of tablescaping.
Do you think the eggs are a little bit out of proportion with the size of the birds? LOL
I think they are so cute...♥

I.ve always been a a storyteller about everything. I try to stay as close to the truth as possible  These plates have a story too.
I don't know what plants they are, but they look like weeds to me.
I found the four plates at a yard sale for $2.00. I knew they would be perfect for a spring table. I was going to use them later this spring outside under the pergola, but I just couldn't wait.

Grape vine wreath, green dollar tree plates, Martha Stewart salad plates and weed plates from yard sale. Sweet♥
The place mats were on clearance at TM. There is a set of place mats, four napkins  and a table runner for $9.00. I didn't use the napkins for this tablescape because they are huge. I had this smaller contrasting green napkin that works well with my semi-shear napkins. The white flatware is from Walmart.
There you have it. My Birds~St. Patrick's Day and Spring Tablescape all
rolled into one.
Have a great weekend and hopefully we will all have a sunny Sunday.
Joyously,
Betty

~St. Patrick's Day Tea~

 Hi everyone,
I'm doing the happy dance today.  We had a wind and rain storm blow over a couple of nights ago, and all my newly planted seeds, bulbs, and bare root plants had the perfect watering. The next day the sun came out and now I'm enjoying the beautiful sunshine in my garden again.   March is a busy month at My Cozy Corner. We have some important birthdays, and also this month we have the time change, St. Patrick's Day celebration; The first day of Spring and Easter Sunday. Wow!
To celebrate St. Pat's Day I have set a little tea party for one on my new bench.
I'm so excited to have another seating area in the garden.
The beautiful White Ranunculus are from the local grocery store. They were only $4.99.
The crystal vase was one of my mother's treasures.
Our church is having a St. Patrick's Day dinner and the ladies guild are baking the Irish Soda Bread.  I volunteered to make five small loafs of Irish Soda Bread for the evening. Now, there is only four.
"Wherever you go and whatever you do, may the luck of the Irish be there with you."
-an Irish blessing
Irish Soda Bread is delicious with butter, and I love using my vintage butter knife.
I have a printable recipe for the Irish Soda Bread. Go Here.
As I write this post I'm eating Irish Soda Bread and drinking tea. How fun is that? LOL.
I found this adorable cup at a Church bazaar last fall. HAMMERSLEY Fine Bone China, Made in England.

I love Jan Karon books. I've read the entire Mitford series, and now I'm reading In the Company of Others.
A trip to Ireland would be nice.

Have a look at the cute bench I bought at 'Big Lots' the other day.
Saint Francis of Assisi has found a home in the tulip bed.
He is known as the patron saint of animals and nature. Just perfect for my garden.
Another Joyous day @ My Cozy Corner.
