Christmas Eve Tea Time

Hello everyone,
This post has a story. Last Christmas I took photos of this post and
photography was so awful I couldn't publish them.
So this week I photographed it again. I added the cupcake
Christmas trees and I love the accents of red and green on the table.
The Christmas tree plates are from Walmart.
The Better Homes and Garden
Heritage Collection.
I sit at this window in the morning for coffee.  I put up the curtains when
I photograph this tea table. The curtains give the table a softer background.
A World Market special item.  Cupcake Baking and Decor Kit.
Other Great Ideas:
Silicon flowerpots are also perfect for baking brownies and serving sweet
treats such as crispy rice treats, candy, trail mix and ice cream!
The most enjoyment I receive from blogging is the great comments I receive.
And the other is playing with my camera.
As you may know from other posts, I have a generous SIL.
My Sister-in-Law was the flower girl in my wedding  56 years ago.
While she was on vacation this summer in Florance Oregon she picked up a
little silver plated sugar, creamer, and tray. Her hubby glued the lid on the sugar bowl,
and she tied them together to make the cutest door hanger.
I wanted to hang it over my tea table until the holiday season ends.
And then I will hang it on my back door.
I have plaid pillows on my chairs during the holiday season.
The Christmas Trees are foam cones and some leftover burlap fringe trim wrapped
around the forms with leftover ornaments from a couple of years ago.

The Red Cardinal bird is my favorite bird of all time. I have never
seen one in person because I live in California. SOMEDAY I hope
to see one up close in a tree. I picked some Rosemary to add to the
red and white twine. And I have my beautiful green depression
glass tea cups on the table for tea.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

The dinner plates are Ralph Lauren and Affection is the silverplated flatwear.

Charming after dinner drink glasses were my mama's Christmas glasses.
Thank you mama.
A mosaic to save.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Joyously,
Betty

Thanksgiving Tea Time

Hello everyone,
Next Thursday we will be reunited with our family
and I will especially grateful.
This Tea Time today is the November photo in
my 2017 calendar.  I have ordered some for
Christmas gifts for my special friends and family.
I will give you a look when I have my Tea Time review
at the end of this year.
Royal Albert 'Old Country Roses' is a timeless china pattern.
I must admit I was blessed to find the dishes in this post.
I had one cup I found at the thrift store a few years ago.
But this summer while I was yard-sale shopping on a
Saturday morning I found these dishes and the candle holder.
I bought all the dishes for $5.00. Yes!
I did have the napkin rings I bought at my
favorite thrift store.
The white teapot caught my eye at T.J.Maxx, and I
knew it was going to be a delicious addition to my
Tea Time tablescape.
I am so in love with this dish pattern.
The best-selling dinnerware pattern in the world, the Old Country Roses pattern is practically synonymous with the name Royal Albert and a long-standing testament to timeless style and elegant craftsmanship.
Old Country Roses' signature motif of burgundy, pink and yellow roses, accented with lustrous gold banding.

What is more appropriate to have on my tea table
but Country Roses freshly picked from
my garden.  A variety of colors and the
scent of the roses in the house is incredible.
A mosaic to pin

Thank you for visiting, and I would like to
wish you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving holiday.
Joyously,
Betty

A Cozy Christmas Table

Hello everyone,
Christmas Eve is in the air. Sweetheart and I are enjoying a  quiet Christmas Day together. Our children are spending time with their children at home. Since Thanksgiving Day I have been with each child and granddaughters on a one on one  basis. Early in November I visited our son in L A. Our middle son and family spent Thanksgiving Day with us, and our sweet daughter graces us with her presence at least twice a week. LOL. In fact, I went to the movies with her and girls tonight.
I set a small table by the dining room Christmas tree for a more intimate feeling.  I just think Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a Poinsettia plant.  And when I found the  Lenox Poinsettia napkin rings on clearance last year and then I found the Lenox Poinsettia napkins.  I knew I was in heaven.
A dish lover's dream come true!
The candle light is so amazingly beautiful.
The table is all decked out with red chargers and Ralph Lauren dinner plate and salad plate.
The gold rimmed glasses came from my mother's estate
The crystal candle stick holders I've had for 24 years.
They are Fostoria 'American'
I have a red runner on the table,  and my frenchy pillows in the chairs.

My silver  flatware is 'Affection' So true for the two of us.

I hope you enjoy your holiday dinner with family, friends or just with the one you love...
Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments you have sent my way this past year. I reap many wonderful rewards from blogging. It feeds my soul...
A BIG THANK YOU!

The 'Yuletide' camellia always blooms during the Christmas season. I do love enjoying a slice of tea bread and a cup of tea, sitting by the fireplace in My Cozy Corner

Tablescape # 58 Twelve Days of Christmas

 Hello Everyone,
Welcome to My '12 Days of Christmas' Tea.
To learn more about the reason for the '12 Days of Christmas' Go Here.
I've set the table, and the soup is on the stove.
While we're waiting for everyone to arrive, please pour yourself  a glass of  punch.
Everyone has arrived.  Please find your favorite tea from the tea box.
Pick your favorite tea pot and I will pour you some hot water to brew your tea.
We have our tea pot and now we can sit down and I will serve the soup.
Wild Mushroom soup in the Christmas dishes

Has everyone finished their soup?
Now it's time to sing. Yes! sing.
Story time:
I purchased this complete set of dishes from Domestication's a long time ago.

Every Christmas our family would use the dishes for our Christmas Dinner.
Our granddaughters would seek out the plate with the five golden rings.
Usually our oldest granddaughter would find the plate and quickly sit down to claim the prize.
She is now 21 years old and has a wonderful singing voice.  Last year she sang the part of Fantine in
Les Miserables. At six years old she won a talent contest and an cash award.
Today she is busy studying to be a nurse.
We would sing and laugh. And sing and laugh until every one's sides hurt.
What wonderful memories.

We did the same thing at my tea party. We sang. I mixed the plates up so we jumped around the table and tried to remember who had which plate. I hope you can imagine how funny we were.
I invited 12 ladies.  Each sang their part perfect! We sang and laughed and we sang and laughed.
Thanks ladies.

I baked Vanilla scones with dried cranberries. To lather the scone I served butter, pomegranate jelly, whipped cream and homemade lemon curd.
I found the Partridge in a Pear Tree cookie jar at a yard sale and had to do some minor repair work  to one of the five golden rings. I placed a pear and little golden rings on the table.
Each lady received a English cracker with the number of her plate. They took the crackers home as a favor along with a jar of homemade pomegranate jelly.
I served
Egg Salad Sandwiches
Shrimp Cocktail Canapes
and
Turkey Salad Crostini with Cranberry Relish

The four gracious ladies on the left are my dear friends of 44 years. The beautiful lady at the left end is my awesome sister-in-law. The great lady at the end of the table is also part of the group of 44 years. The fabulous lady at the end on the right is a dear friend of many years. The ladies in blue and red were my wonderful traveling partners of 2011.  The last two incredible ladies were also on our trip to England and Scotland in 2011.
I must say this now. I am truly blessed to have 12 of the most amazing women in my life.
I know I could go to each one of them and they would be there for me.
Thank you ladies. You are the best.
I served homemade Lemon Squares Supreme, Chocolate Truffles,
and German Shortbread Cookies dipped in Chocolate for dessert.
