Holiday Lights Under the Stars

Under the Stars
Holiday Lights

Hello everyone,
Last night, we had our daughter and granddaughters over for dinner. After we finished dinner, my daughter volunteered to clean up the kitchen and I invited my youngest granddaughter to join me for a photo shoot to photograph the Holiday lights under the stars. My granddaughter spotted(watched me so I wouldn't fall down) while I focused the camera on the tripod. There's some pretty rough ground in the road in front of our house and when it gets dark I can't see very well. I love granddaughters...
We keep our outside decorations pretty simple. First, we're older and secondly decorations are expensive. The Dollar Tree was my go-to place this year. I love my window wreaths.
My Disneyland inspired wreath is on the porch next to the wood pile. We have been having a cold front coming in from the Arctic...Alaska. And we have our wood stacked where it's nice and handy to build a warm fire in the fireplace. It's so comfortable and COZY~
Our next door neighbor has a beautiful Christmas display in their front yard. I tried to photograph it, but it's moving so fast and my photo technical skills are very poor. I think a video would be better. Maybe next year.
Well this is 2013 Holiday lights in Northern California on December 3rd.
This is a full view of our home. As you can see my daughter's cute little red KIA is sitting in the driveway. It goes nicely with the colored lights around the house.

Holiday Lights Outside!

Outside Lights in the Country
Welcome to our home.
For the past 44 years we have been tweaking and updating our home in the country.  Well, when we first bought our abode, it was 800 square feet. Today it's much more.  On Sunday Sweetheart and I strung the lights and decorated the windows and lamp post. I'm decorating a little slower this year, and blogging as I go along.
I love the wreaths on the windows. Dollar Tree~Yay!
 Three Wreaths                                  $3.00
 Three Bows                                        $3.00
One Bolt of Red Garland              $1.00
 Total                                                    $7.00
We have big colored lights on the house and small white lights on the iron fence.
My Disneyland Inspired Wreath is hanging on the porch.
The sun is setting now. The Pear tree in the back yard with the beautiful Autumn leaves is in its last glory days.
I'm be showing you our house at night and also our neighbor's yard in a few days. Now off to decorating the living room.

~Holiday Lights~

 Hello everyone,
I'm  happy to be home.
Sweetheart and I took a little trip this past weekend to handle family affairs regarding my mother's passing.
Thank you for your support and understanding during this journey.
I will try to blog as often as possible.
Now it's time to share  some ~Holiday Lights~ our son has displayed in his front yard.
We spent Thanksgiving Day visiting family and in the evening I took some photos before we left for home. I didn't use a tripod, because it was windy and cold. I just took a few shots this year...To see more, and
to see last year's lights Go Here.
My son and his family love to go outside and set up the lights around the first week in November.
On Thanksgiving evening is the first time they light the outside lights and the day after Thanksgiving they buy a  real tree and decorate it all together. That is the tradition, and it's a great way to start the holiday season.
This year my granddaughters painted their favorite character. My 18 year old granddaughter loves 'Hello Kitty' while my 21 year old granddaughter loves 'Belle' and my son painted the cute little doggy.
Everyone loves presents and these are the cutest!
There is no snow, but the snowman is adorable.
Some little penguins are finishing the show.
Thank you so much for visiting.

~In the Christmas Spirit~

Hello Everyone and Happy Holidays

2010
This is a photo of my son's house last year.
He and his family have been collecting outdoor Christmas decorations for years.
They add one piece a year.
Good Job Pat and Tori!

2011

The Christmas gifts are the 2011 addition to their collection.

The mail box opens and closes
"very cute"

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with our family and just as we were to leave I photographed the outdoor lights for this post.

They moved the train to the side yard. Last year it was in front of the house.

Now a view of My Cozy Corner
2011

This is my wreath on our front porch.
I love Scotland and a Tartan
Ribbon was an absolute necessity

This is our Yellow House with a Gingerbread house look. My sweetheart built the iron fencing around our property, and it's a great place to hang our colored lights

Our mail box has a festive look with a Santa hat on top of the lamp post.

As you can see we are all decked out for the Holiday Season
