~O Christmas Tree~

Hello everyone,
Christmas Day is my Blog's Anniversary. I published my
first post on Christmas Day December 25, 2009. GO HERE
It was a red-letter day for me. I never imagined in a million
years I would be blogging today. Thanks to my family,
friends and followers for your love and support and beautiful comments.
I connect with friends and family on Facebook too.
You are my inspiration to keep photographing our home
and garden.
This December zipped by so fast I hardly had time
to take all the photos of the holiday decorations in
our house. But what I do have around the kitchen
and living room are so comfy and cozy I just
want to hug my little decorations.
Who doesn't want to hug a little bear on the bottom of
Santa's long coat?
I love my tree this year. In past years I have had angels on
our tree, but this year I added my favorite bird, the red cardinal
to the Christmas Tree.

Bless you all

Christmas Eve Tea Time

Hello everyone,
This post has a story. Last Christmas I took photos of this post and
photography was so awful I couldn't publish them.
So this week I photographed it again. I added the cupcake
Christmas trees and I love the accents of red and green on the table.
The Christmas tree plates are from Walmart.
The Better Homes and Garden
Heritage Collection.
I sit at this window in the morning for coffee.  I put up the curtains when
I photograph this tea table. The curtains give the table a softer background.
A World Market special item.  Cupcake Baking and Decor Kit.
Other Great Ideas:
Silicon flowerpots are also perfect for baking brownies and serving sweet
treats such as crispy rice treats, candy, trail mix and ice cream!
The most enjoyment I receive from blogging is the great comments I receive.
And the other is playing with my camera.
As you may know from other posts, I have a generous SIL.
My Sister-in-Law was the flower girl in my wedding  56 years ago.
While she was on vacation this summer in Florance Oregon she picked up a
little silver plated sugar, creamer, and tray. Her hubby glued the lid on the sugar bowl,
and she tied them together to make the cutest door hanger.
I wanted to hang it over my tea table until the holiday season ends.
And then I will hang it on my back door.
I have plaid pillows on my chairs during the holiday season.
The Christmas Trees are foam cones and some leftover burlap fringe trim wrapped
around the forms with leftover ornaments from a couple of years ago.

The Red Cardinal bird is my favorite bird of all time. I have never
seen one in person because I live in California. SOMEDAY I hope
to see one up close in a tree. I picked some Rosemary to add to the
red and white twine. And I have my beautiful green depression
glass tea cups on the table for tea.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

The dinner plates are Ralph Lauren and Affection is the silverplated flatwear.

Charming after dinner drink glasses were my mama's Christmas glasses.
Thank you mama.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Tablescape Inspiration

Hello everyone,
Last Saturday I attended a Holiday Tea to raise
money for a high school scholarship fund.
A person buys a table, develops a theme and
invites friends and or family to join them for tea.
I want to share some of the beautiful table settings
I viewed. The photos were taken with my
6s+iphone.

I hope you enjoyed the delightful tablescapes.
I love tea parties.

The Nutcracker Suite or Sweet

Hello everyone,
Wow~I have been on a blogging break, and I didn't even plan it.
I posted my Thanksgiving tea and then our Holiday Bazaar at
Church was the following Saturday. The next Thursday was
Thanksgiving and sweetheart, and I traveled to our son's
home to enjoy a wonderful holiday with our
granddaughters and family. We had a sleepover, and
I didn't have to cook. Yay!!!
Before we went on our little holiday, I invited my two granddaughters
that live near us to help decorate this little tree in the kitchen.
One granddaughter worked on the nutcracker tree, and
the other granddaughter worked on the mantel and banner
in the living room.  It was incredible to have assistance with the
decorations, and they gave me a jump start to decorating for the holidays.
When we came home from our trip, I began to work on
the big tree in the living room, and I will share that tree and
mantel next week.
My Tartan tea cup and saucer is
Tartan by Royal Doulton
I have collected Nutcrackers for years.  I wanted to feature my
Tartan tea cup and saucer with my collection of nutcrackers.
We have a fireplace in the center of our home. The fireplace is
in the living room, but the brick back is in the dining room.
I have a large storage chest against the back side and it
is filled with table linens.  The storage unit is a great place
to display many collections during the year.
On the other wall in the dining room is a buffet. More nutcrackers are
displayed on the top.  I have a rooster collection and the menu
on the wall is from the 'French Laundry' in Napa Valley.
I saved the clothes pin they use as a napkin ring.
This buffet is where I have fresh fruit and covered cake plates
displayed during the year.
When I travel, I usually find a tea towel to bring home.
I found this Nutcracker tea towel and I knew I would
display this towel during the holiday.

I found the small nutcrackers at the Dollar Tree.

So glad you came for a visit.
Joyously,
Betty
