How's your week going? I just returned from visiting my mother. She turned 91 years old on March 14th. My sister and our husbands took our mom out to a nice dinner and after we came home from the restaurant we celebrated her birthday with these cupcakes for dessert.

I put a candle in one of cupcakes and then she blew out the candle out and made a wish.

We all had a great time laughing and celebrating the life of such a remarkable lady.

Last Saturday was Sweetheart's birthday. We invited our children over for Corned Beef and Cabbage to help celebrate Sweetheart's 70th birthday. Of course he did all the cooking.

He is a marvelous chef.

Just is time for St. Patrick's Day we love to take on some Irish classics.

The bedrock of a great St. Paddy's menu is corned beef and cabbage with boiled red potatoes.

The cabbage is boiled separately in clean salted water just before serving the corned beef.

Fresh bread and butter is always a wonderful addition to any meal.

I took a suggestion from Designs by Gollum for exhausted cooks and made the cupcakes from a Devil's Food Chocolate Cake Mix and prepared Vanilla Frosting. A piece of Belgian Chocolate on the top of the cupcakes finished the dessert. Cupcake papers are from Tuesday Morning.

I hope partaking of this special menu on March 17 will bring you the luck of the Irish, enough to ward off any curses that may befall you...and that's no blarney.

Tablescape # 43 - Luck of the Irish Tea

Hello Everyone,

Celebrating St. Patrick's Day

Green is my favorite color and I would love to visit the Emerald Isle someday.

With the Spring full of promise and expectations like anything new in life. Let's take a breath of the beautiful blossoms from my Pear tree and jump into Spring.

The table is set for the traditional taste of Corned Beef and Cabbage.

Green vintage glasses remind me of Shamrocks and the gold chargers and flatware remind me of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow where the leprechauns would store away all their coins.

The table is set with White Johnson Bros. tea cups and saucers and a white tea pot.

To the Irish, no kettle for tea and no pot to serve it in is as punishing a fate as the Furies can configure.

Because in the land of mists and moors and scholars and saints, tea is, despite what others may insist the social libation of choice.

On the Emerald Isle, one of the largest tea consuming nations per capita in the world-

about six cups a day for each person-the phrase "let me put a kettle on" is equivalent to the American "hello."

It is a the very genesis of Irish hospitality.

~Spring Cloche Party and Review~

Hello Everyone,

The gangs all here!

We're getting Clocher and Closer to Spring!

I thought I would give my new friends and followers a view from the past. I've joined two previous Spring Cloche parties and this is my third Spring Cloche Party @ Marty's place. I think my photography has improved and I believe I have stayed true to my vision of having fun with blogging. I love putting posts together. I looked back at my first year's photos and remember how much fun it was just learning new techniques and trying different things with photography.

As I look back at the Spring cloche party 2010. I remembered I had only been blogging since December 25, 2009. About three months.

Oh my gosh. That seems so long ago.

The first thing I knew about cloches was that I didn't know what a cloche was. Marty @ A Stroll Thru Life gave me some clues. I looked around the house and I found a few make-shift cloches. And I was on a roll.

This cloche was the top to an Anniversary Clock I bought at a yard sale...

I love Chocolate candy and a Bunny fit into a candy jar just perfect.

Apothecary Jars are great for cloches...

Mr. and Mrs. Bunny.

I love to use a cake plate and cover. The girls tea set fit just fine under the lid.

The salt and pepper shakers are under the dome of the Anniversary clock.

~A French Lavender Heart~

Hello Everyone,

Let's have a tea party. I've made the favors and the tea is brewing.

'Pink Perfection' is perfection. Don't you know and I love Spring...

Do I have a favorite season? Well, I love each season. They are all so different.

Especially being a gardener I'm always watching and interested in the way my garden grows from year to year.

Now let's sit back and dream of being in a tea room filled with wonderful ladies. They're visiting and eating delicious food and drinking the best tasting tea. ~ I want a tea room~ whine!

I've been making these hearts for a couple of years now.

Since I have lavender in my garden I use the dried lavender blooms in the heart sachets.

I make the hearts in different fabrics and now I want to embellish them for a more professional look.

The back is covered in red velvet and a satin ribbon for the hanger. The hearts are very versatile for decor, drawers or closets and lavender has long been used as a pest control agent. I love the smell of lavender in the bathroom too.

I'm getting so much joy from my 'Pink Willow' dishes.

One of the best Christmas gifts I've given myself in a long time.

Sweetheart and I are very busy here at My Cozy Corner. March is birthday month.

My Sweetheart will be 70 years old on March 10th

My mother is going to be 91 years young on March 14th

Our son will be 48 years old on March 16th and his name is also Patrick. I just couldn't resist naming him Patrick when he was born at 9:30 p.m. on the 16th. (I had meatloaf with a shamrock on the top and green jello in the hospital when he was born. It was meant to be).

Also my Sister will be 68 years old. on March 25th.

I hope she doesn't see that I put her age out there for the world to see.

My Sweetheart has two friends having their birthday the same week as his and we are going to a brunch on Friday for the guys.

Sorry! I'm always playing around when I write a post. Now let's see where was I.

Oh I remember... I made a card for my sister with the mosaic that's at the end of this post. I love making handmade cards. With the great printers and photo editing software out there, card making is so much fun.

This set of 'Pink Willow' was made in England and I purchased a place setting for eight before Christmas from Tuesday Morning. (If your new here...I work part-time at Tuesday Morning) Wow!!! Do I have fun straightening everything. After working as an accountant most of my adult life I love working with people. I do the register most of the time and everyone is so sweet and kind to me. Even if I'm slow. But I'm accurate!
