How to Build a Greenhouse!

Hello everyone,
How's your weekend? We're doing good here in Northern California. Our usual temps in June are in the triple digits, but this past week the temps have been in the 80's. It's wonderful.
In my last post HERE I asked you to guess my birthday gift.
Yep! You guessed it. I received a greenhouse.
Here is a photo of Sweetheart holding the box the greenhouse was packed in. He's so funny and cute for  72... And he is so handy.
BEFORE
We have wanted to build a greenhouse for years. While visiting Harbor Freight we spotted this nifty greenhouse for a great price.
Perfectly sized to fit in the backyard, this greenhouse is ideal for the casual gardener or flower enthusiast.
  • Sliding door for easy access

  • Roof vent for climate control

  • Durable, all-weather aluminum frame

  • UV-coated polycarbonate panels for sunlight

  • diffusion
  • LINK to Harbor Freight

Shipping weight was 81 lbs.
Sweetheart checked it out and found the directions.
Accessories included: Hardware and Wrench
Sweetheart decided to use his own wrench
I'm so excited about planting annuals from seed in the greenhouse. I've dreamed of starting some annuals in January, and planting them in early spring.

We installed the greenhouse behind Sweetheart's shop. The door slides closed and the windows on top of the roof  are great for ventilation. Sweetheart built wooden benches for about $20.00 dollars worth of lumber. Also Sweetheart built a redwood foundation for the greenhouse. There is a space next to the door for a potting sink and bench. We are looking for a vintage sink at garage and yard sales. I'll show you that in another post when we get it set-up.
I had to take a few photos inside and love the light the windows reflect. I have my own flower shop. lol
This is the view from the back. It's 6 feet by 8 feet. Just the right size.
AFTER
I think a stained glass piece would look nice hanging on the back wall.
A  Mosaic for a total look
Thanks for visiting My Cozy Corner.
I'm really enjoying Summer with my granddaughters. We have some fun activities planned, such as swimming, photographing some posts and our vacation in July.
Joyously,
Betty

My Flower Shop redo

Hi Everyone,
Wow! I just learned a valuable lesson about blogging on two computers. I started this post on my desktop computer and didn't close the post on the desktop and finished this post on my laptop last evening.
Guess what? I lost the completed post. This is a redo...
I've been doing some spring cleaning and working in the garden, dead heading my roses. I picked the nice roses for this display.
Last week was my birthday... I received a wonderful birthday gift.
Can you guess what it is?
There is a hint in this post.
Last year I published my first flower shop.HERE  I would love to go to France and photograph flower shops and some of the famous gardens. I also would love to photograph a few castles too.
I love the different containers I've collected over the years. The roses in the white vase are Secret and Therese Bugnet

The orange rose is Just Joey in my watering can is from Walmart.
I found this watering can at a yard sale and it was free.
The red roses in my french bucket are Don Juan and Ingrid Bergman.
I love this vase from the thrift store. St Patrick is the yellow one and the dark pink one is Queen Elizabeth.

Allium is a stately plant in my Petites Fleurs container.
I bought the little cutie while visiting the Lavender Farm last year.

Vintage Car Show

Hello everyone,
Hope your having a pleasant weekend.
We're have some HOT weather in Northern Ca. Temps are 105°.  I can't seem to get back in the swing of things since I had my Garden Tour HERE in May.
My birthday was celebrated watching my granddaughter graduate from eighth grade on June 3rd. and I'm working on my kneeler. HERE
I've wanted to share my photos of  the day Sweetheart and I went to our local Vintage Car Show the last weekend of April.
This year celebrates the
25th Anniversary of Kool April Nites
We started out early in the morning and walked. And we walked. We started a ten and walked until two. I love looking at old cars. They bring back so many memories of my teenage years, growing up in the beautiful Santa Clara Valley.
Our dear friend just bought this 57 Chevy.
Sweet

My son has a Cooper and we loved seeing this Cooper fixed up for the Mini Fire Chief.
Our son also owns a Mustang .
I love this yellow pickup

I dated in a car like this! He was a nice guy♥
The Thunderbird-not the white pickup. lol

This is so my era...John's Drive In. 1959 with the tray on the window.
Inside the auditorium were the show cars.
A Recap:
Thanks for visiting and I hope this next week I can get my blogging mojo back. I have so many things to share with you.
Joyously,
Betty

Butterfly Meadow Tea Time

Hello everyone,
I've had a busy week. I took the written test to renew my drivers licence for another five years. The next time I will take the test I will be 78 years old. Ouch! There were 18 questions and I missed two.
I PASSED! Yay.
As a reward for passing I treated myself to a new tea set. My birthday is Tuesday June 3rd and I've wanted this tea set for years.
Happy Birthday to me. Now you know the rest of the story.
I have no secrets from my blog friends. LOL
Lenox 'Butterfly Meadow' 7 piece tea set.
My tabletop has turned into a sun-soaked butterfly haven! From my breakfast table to my tea table. This gently scalloped tea set will brighten my tablescape with a yellow and blue butterfly pattern fluttering above vibrant florals.
Delicate details are so sweet.
A little lady bug in the tea cup.
Two soft yellow napkins from my favorite store
(Tuesday Morning) One napkin in the tea cup and one in the tray.

A butterfly on the tea pot lid♥
Soft pink flowers on the sugar and creamer and a pink flower bud as the handle for the sugar bowl.
A wonderful spot to sit in the morning and drink a cup of tea. Watching the sun rise and listening to the birds sing...
Over the past seven years since retiring I've collected several pieces of 'Butterfly Meadow' dinnerware. I found the dinner plates at a consignment store and the mugs at Tuesday Morning. The coffee pot was on sale at Macy's. The purchase of the coffee pot started
this journey to complete this beautiful table setting.
