Happy Mother's Day to My Mom

Hello Everyone,
I'm so happy you came to visit My Cozy Corner. As you remember my mother just turned 90 years old in March 2011. What do you buy someone 90 years old?  I decided I would give my mom a few hand made presents for the upcoming Mother's Day.  Because I live about 250 miles away from my mother I visit about every two months and try to call her every Sunday afternoon. My sister is my mother's primary caregiver. She and her husband are now on vacation for two weeks in Hawaii. When they are away I try to plan my visits to my mother's house. When I'm with my mother we visit  about family. We watch television together. I cook for her and usually take her for a ride in the car. She is unable to travel so I try to bring the joys of my home to her.  Pictures of my garden, and this trip I'm  bringing blueberry-buttermilk scones the best ever lemon curd and shortbread cookies. I stay at my sister's home (it's just like a B & B) and I try to do some shopping while I'm in a larger city. Especially clothes for my upcoming trip to England and Scotland.

I would like to thank Candy at The Little Round Table for this wonderful Tussie-Mussies craft.

The pansies are blooming and the chives were going to bloom so I picked the blossoms off.  A little Ivy and a vintage vase is so wonderful to enjoy the small pleasures of the day.

I must admit that I am so busy now that I have retired I don't know how I worked for so many years.  Another new hobby I love is knitting.  I have been knitting dishcloths for about two months.  I want to write a post about the darlings, but I keep giving them away as gifts. Just like this one.  I made the dishcloth out of
100 %  cotton yarn and I found this beautiful prayer on the Internet that I include each time I give one away.

A handmade card with a photograph of the 'Pink Perfection' Camellia from my garden and 'Godiva' Dark chocolate candy is always appreciated.

What a joy it was to make this fun Tussie-Mussie~
I'm making one for my sister and my daughter too.

Body Lotion for my mother's aging skin.  At 90 years old, her skin is just amazing.

It's always a pleasure to share my life and projects with everyone

  5. In my opinion, material things are not that important at my age or hers. It is the love and knowing you still care about us a human. Not something old and in the way. Best wishes to your mother. I lost mine at a very young age.
