Happy Mother's Day

 Hello Everyone,
Wishing you a Happy Mother's Day!
My daughter and I are going out to breakfast and I'm having my very favorite meal.
Eggs Benedict.
Later in the day Sweetheart is fixing dinner and I've prepared a simple dessert. Go Here.
I picked more of my pink roses and put them into my new vintage vases I found at the thrift store.
I love old vintage vases with  bouquets of roses.
My Gorham Secret Garden Beautiful Cream and Gold Trimmed vase was a real find.
A cupcake in a cloche is so delicate for a Mother's Day gift.
I'm enjoying my pink roses, but soon they will be gone. The wind and heat have already shorten the blooming season by two weeks this year.
Yummy! Rich, Triple Chocolate Fudge cupcakes with vanilla frosting a touch of decor.
Peonies, Fairy rose, Secret, Garden Party, Tiffany, Simplicity, Therese Bugnet and Gene Boerner are some of the roses in these vases.

Wishing you all a very
Happy Mother's Day

Easy Mother's Day Dessert

 Hello everyone,
How's your week going? My week has been busy. With that said! I have a recipe for a quick and easy  and delicious dessert for an exhausted retired wife, mother and grandmother.
As everyone in the universe knows I love chocolate!
I saw
  Triple Chocolate Fudge
and knew this was going to be my Mother's Day gift to me.
23 minutes later I had some delicious looking cupcakes.
They are a little top heavy so I cut the top off and put it in a bowl with Ice Cream and Chocolate pudding for  our evening dessert.
The Vanilla Funfetti frosting is perfect for my dessert. The frosting has the decoration right on the top of can.
Just the right amount of pastel funfetti
I put the tip in the Wilton Pastry bag and fill it half full with frosting. I squeeze the bag to release the air pockets. It's no fun starting on top of a cupcake and a poof of air comes out instead of the frosting.
I start at the edge where I trimmed the top. It leaves a nice looking trim of cupcake.
This is the magic tip. I love the professional look. Wilton 1M
With this tip and prepared frosting I had the cupcakes decorated in about 15 minutes. Sprinkle the decor on the top and we have an attractive presentation making  any occasion more festive looking.
The Coral carpet rose is one of my favorite roses.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit to My Cozy Corner.
Please enjoy your special day and hopefully you will be treated like a queen in every way.

~A Visit to Napa Valley~

Hello everyone,
Welcome to Napa Valley, California.
Wine Country
Sunday, April 28, 2013
Our first stop on the tour was Turnbull Wine Cellars
World-Class Fine Art Photography & Wine Tasting
"The Masters of Photography" An exhibit of works by 36 of the world's greatest photographers, featuring images created between 1880 and 1989.
It was fabulous!
Here we are with our dear friends visiting in California for a week from Wisconsin.
We haven't seen then since 1973... How time flies.
Our second stop was at V. Sattui Winery and Italian Market
We had a picnic lunch and visited the underground barrel cellars.
I love this iron chandelier decorated with grapes. Awesome!
The story of the family business. One of the oldest and most successful wineries in the U.S.
Founded in San Francisco in 1885.

This is the picnic area
I can't resist a pink climbing rose.
Our last stop for the day was Sterling Vineyards
The beautiful grounds are surrounded by yellow rose bushes.
The aerial tram ride to the top of Sterling Vineyards just never gets old. On the upper deck, you have a panoramic view of the valley.
Hold on to your undies~Your looking at 285 years between the four of us.
LAUGHING OUT LOUD! I think I'm so funny sometimes.
As we drove along the highway. We would stop and look at interesting things.
Cars and the old gas station pump for the Guys.
Flowers for the Girls.
We had a lovely dinner at "Ristorante Allegria' Italian influenced with California Cuisine located in downtown Napa in a historic landmark, previously a bank, built in 1916.
We could have dined in "The VAULT'
I would have been thrilled to dine in "The VAULT'
Maybe next time...Come back Tina and Larry!!!

~A Master Degree~

Oh The Places I've Been
Sunday
April 21, 2013
Congratulations!
Hello everyone,
It's just one of those very special days in a parent's life to watch their daughter receive a Master Degree.
Sweetheart and I traveled to Sacramento California to attend The 2013 National University Commencement.
Our daughter received a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology
College of Letters and Sciences
Here is our sweet girl - women receiving a hand shake from MS. Patricia E Potter Interim President National University
The hood at National University is light grey and blue, and white is Master of Arts: Counseling Psychology
I would say "this is a happy person"
I love the beautiful smile
Here are Marj's biggest fans and support group. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening and one Saturday a month for 18 months-those girls were amazing. While mom studied and wrote research papers they were understanding all the way.  What a beautiful example they have to follow.
Mom and Dad cheered her on.  Giving her time to study on Sunday and prepare dinner for the girls and her, so she could keep on studying,  While going to school she also worked full time as a social worker.
We are very proud of her!
We all give credit to her best friend, who has finished the program and understood what Marj was going through...She was Marj's rock. Bless this sweet women's heart.
Today is Wednesday May 1, 2013.
Marj and Jessica are in Kauai celebrating Jessica's wedding day.
What a wonderful journey for our family.
Congrats!
