Traveling Tuesday

Hello everyone,
Welcome to Traveling Tuesday. I have started this series to share my vacation with family and friends...I hope you enjoy the journey.
After visiting Boston for four days HERE and HERE we rented a car and started up the coast to Maine. Our first stop was at the Maine Diner where Guy Fieri visited.  We enjoyed our first bowl of Clam Chowder on our trip. I forgot to order clam chowder in Boston...Da!
Since I love antique malls we stopped at Reed's Antiques and Collectibles in Wells. We roamed around the town awhile and sweetheart found an old car to stand by for a photo shoot.  The moose in a restaurant was the only moose I saw in Maine. *Laughing Out Loud*.

We explored the sea shore and I photographed  ONE lighthouse.
'Goat Island lighthouse' at Cape Porpoise, Maine
While visiting the small coastal village in the town of Kennebunkport, sweetheart had his first fresh boiled lobster.
I love the reflection of the building in the water.
Lobster boats and lobster traps are all along the pier.
We visited St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Kennebunkport, Maine.
After doing some sight-seeing we found a quaint motor lodge to stay the night.
We asked the owner where the best place to eat lobster, and she recommended this lobster shack...Nunan's Lobster Hut!!! We had a great time and the lobster was perfect.♥
We had a restful night in our little bungalow and started fresh in the morning to Old Quebec City, Canada. Come back next Tuesday and I will show you around the old city.
Joyously,
Betty

Tea with Abigail

Hello everyone,
It's Tea Time in the garden today. If you're new or have been a friend or follower for awhile you know I love any tea. I love to drink it, photograph it and write about it. While I was in Boston a couple of weeks ago I went to the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum. HERE. After the tour of the museum sweetheart and I had tea in Abigail's Tea Room. I purchased a few tea things in the gift shop. So pour a cup a tea and sit back for a few minutes and I'll share my fun things I brought home.
The weather is cooling down here in Northern California, but we are still having a little dry wind. I made my favorite Chicken Salad sandwiches on croissants with fresh grapes and strawberries. Recipe for sandwiches HERE.

I'm having another bloom of roses. The beautiful red roses are 'Don Juan' and Bat Face Cuphea flowers
I couldn't resist buying a tea bag caddy with the Boston Tea Party 1773 logo.
Abigail's tea bags are pyramid shape and the flavor is wonderful
I have been collecting tea cups for awhile and now when I shop the thrift stores, I'm looking for tea cups with solid colors on the outside of the tea cup and on the top of the saucer. I found this tea cup and it reminded me of fall.
'Susie Cooper' bone china England
I'm collecting tea towels and the gift shop had this white tea towel with a tea pot and cups stacked on top...I couldn't resist.
Fall colored tea pot and 'Susie Cooper'
The garden is turning a beautiful golden color.

I love sitting at my little table outside under the pomegranate tree and enjoying a cup of tea and a delicious sandwich with some fruit. It's so peaceful.

Hope you enjoyed your little rest and I enjoyed sharing my little tea things with you.

Falling in Love with Fall

Hello everyone,
Oh! How I love Fall or Autumn. Which ever you prefer to call the most wonderful season of the year. My granddaughter was throwing her rain boots away this summer and I snagged them for this post.  During the October and November we love to watch baseball and football games in the patio and I love to dress this little table with some harvest inspiration.  This wreath was hanging over the mantel last year. HERE.  And my little wheelbarrow was a gift from my daughter and granddaughters. I found the small bale of straw at Wal Mart to put in the wheelbarrow. I love gathering the pumpkins out of storage and finding a few new decorations to make a fresh and different Fall vignette.
I love the  burlap ribbon on the wreath I purchased last year for under $10.00 dollars at the craft store. The wreath I found on clearance at Tuesday Morning. (My favorite store).
The burgundy throw has been around My Cozy Corner for years. I bought my fresh pumpkin for $6.00 dollars at Wal Mart (another one of my favorite stores). I washed and dried the pumpkin to help preserve it from rotting.
~Mums~Mums~Mums~
I love to  buy mums in September. Every year I buy pots of them on sale.
The mums are a great addition to the garden...
My paisley print quilt is a Fall favorite

I was looking at the garden today and I've found the perfect place to plants these beautiful mums in late November.

Did you know that St. Francis of Assisi is the Patron Saint of animals and the environment.
His feast day is celebrated on October 4th of each year.
The leaves haven't turned their beautiful golden color in Northern California. Maybe next week.
Now it's time to get this party started.

Traveling Tuesday

TRAVELING TUESDAY

Hello everyone,
I'm  continuing my TRAVELING TUESDAY SERIES and today we are taking the Old Town Trolley on a tour of the city.  This trolley was the best way to see Boston for us.  Sweetheart has breathing issues and can't walk very far before stopping to rest. If you are going to be visiting Boston buy a two day ticket. The Boston Tea Party * Ships and Museum is included in the ticket price. A $20.00 dollar value. HERE
We took the subway to Cambridge to visit the John F. Kennedy presidential library.  Some wonderful photos of his childhood and his early years in government.
President Kennedy's boat, The Victura, now stands on the lawn of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, with its bow pointed toward the horizon.
As you can see the weather was just perfect...
After visiting the library we visited the Trinity Church at Copley Square founded in 1733. I photographed some of the kneelers in the pews. I have a great love for kneelers.HERE
The finish line for the Boston Marathon is near the Trinity Church. We were walking and came upon a group of cyclists getting ready to race. Standing there  looking at the yellow finish line I had an overwheming feeling of sadness.
Before going into Church on Wednesday evening I visited the Boston Public Library...

After visiting the beautiful library we walked back to our hotel. We took a little rest and at 5 o'clock we took a taxi to Trinity Church and attended Evensong. The Trinity Choristers, founded in 2006, is a vibrant and renowned musical program open to all boys and girls aged 8 to 18. Evening prayer was sung by the choristers and they sounded like angels.

Thank you for visiting and I enjoyed sharing my visit to Boston. Next week we are heading  to Maine...Hope you come back and check out the sights.
Joyously,
Betty
