Christmas Cloche Party

Parties, Parties and more Parties
A
Christmas Cloche Party and Show and Tell
it just can't get any better than this.

This year I have found a new love.  It's Cloches.  The First Cloche Party in April I didn't own a Cloche.  Now, nine months later I have a few.  But, I'm on a merry Cloche hunt.  I have made some and have been given some.  I think I have a good start for the new year and the inspiration I get from visiting the wonderful blogs I know next year's Cloche Parties will be even more fun to join.

As you know I collect Angel ornaments for my Christmas tree.  Well I collect bigger Angels for my Mantel and I have a big beautiful surprise next week.  Are you guessing now?

Doesn't everyone have a cute little bear in a Cloche?

Some Potpourri and red berry candles in a covered cake plate.

A beautiful Cloche with a gold ornament and white ribbon.  Maybe more white is on the table.  I think this Cloche would look great with a few Christmas cookies in it or maybe a cupcake.

Oh!! Some more white. I love my vintage Candlewick candle holder.

The two Angels in the Cloches are twins.  The large Angel in the next photo is their mother.

Just precious........

This is my living room.  We have a wood burning fireplace and burn wood all winter long.  It's so cozy.  Now you know where My Cozy Corner is.

Nutcrackers Go to Dinner

Last Saturday night the Nutcrackers were the center of attraction at a table set for eight lovely people.  I decorated this table for a Holiday Party.  There were 30 tables each decorated with a different theme.

The green tablecloth and chargers were furnished.  I brought all the decorations, flatware, napkins and a favor for each guest at my table.

Tuesday's Post (Click Here) The Nutcrackers are home standing at attention waiting for Santa to visit our home on December 25th.

Thank you for visiting.  I'm having a great time this month spreading some Holiday Cheer.

Christmas Tree #50

Hello everyone.
2010 has been an amazing year for me.
My sweetheart and I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary in July, so this Christmas tree represents 50 Christmas trees we have decorated together.  WOW!!! That's a lot of trees.

About 20 years ago I gave my old ornaments to my daughter and I started to collect angel ornaments for the Christmas tree.  From 1990 - 2000 I had a 7 foot faux tree and I would spend hours putting about 2000 lights on the tree. But, in 2001 I decided to have a smaller pre-lit tree. It is just amazing to pop the tree up in ten minutes. I just love it.

Oh My!!! A stocking is blocking the view.  It's amazing when I take a photograph and crop it, lighten it, darken it and don't even see the stocking right in front of the tree.  Oh well..... That's Life.  I guess I won't be getting that photographer job for that magazine I wanted. LOL

The gold tassel angel was a gift from a dear friend of mine who attended my 'Harvest Tea' in November.  I love her feather wings and sweet face. Can you see her hanging next to my Dresden ornament?

I hope you have enjoyed your visit.  I'm so happy to share my angels on the Christmas tree with you all.

Nutcracker Collection

Nutcrackers, Nutcrackers and more Nutcrackers

The story of my Nutcracker collection.
This weekend the Nutcrackers were busy going out to dinner.  On Saturday night they stood proudly at a table set for eight lovely people. And enjoyed a festive evening.
Now they are home for the holidays and standing on the top of my cupboard filled with tea cups.

The large Nutcrackers were Christmas gifts from my children and husband. Maybe 30 to 35 years ago.

The little Nutcrackers I found at Michaels craft store for a dollar each.  I thought they would fill in my Tablescape nicely.  I will share the photographs in my post on Thursday.

I think Nutcrackers and candy symbolize the Holidays, so I added some red and white candy to my vignette.  When I see Nutcrackers displayed I think of the 'Nutcracker Suite' and how beautiful the ballet is performed and what a wonderful story it is.

Dresden Ornaments

Hello Everyone..

I'm joining
A Return to Loveliness-Christmas with Victoria

I love Delicate Dresden Ornaments.  I am so blessed to own two.

I have collected angel ornaments for over 20 years.  I don't remember when or where I acquired these two precious and beautiful angels, but I know for sure they are truly my top favorites.

The detail on this beauty is amazing. Embellished with tinsel, lace and small satin roses makes this handmade angel remind me of days gone by when the Victorian tradition started with Queen Victoria popularizing the delightful custom of the Christmas tree in England. And the beautiful paper ornaments first crafted in and around Dresden, Germany in the mid-nineteenth century. Hence the name.

What a beautiful sweet face. I could study the design of this ornament for hours.  Such a work of art.

I had my inspiration for this post from the wonderful story about 'Delicate Dresden Ornaments' in Victoria November/December 2009

Tablescape #12

Santa is coming to dinner.  It's in the evening with the lights down low.  Please help yourself to a plate, napkin and flatware.  I will serve the salad and hot apple cider at the table.

I love my feather tree.  This year, I put my feather tree in the dining room/kitchen.
The lights on the tree add a wonderful iridescent color to the room and a real cozy feeling

Santa is a stocking hanger.  But he doesn't get used anymore.  Little children don't live here anymore.

This precious Santa was a Christmas gift to me a long.....time ago from my son.  It's so sweet

Santa, Santa, Santa, Santa, Santa everywhere.  I just love the Holidays.

The feathers are so delicate and soft to touch.

Santa's bringing a gift , but he's lost in the feather tree.

I love the song 'Santa Baby' In 2004 I had this ornament made for my sweetheart.

A closer look at the tiny Christmas decorations. There are some paper decorations I made for fun hanging around on the tree.

The dishes are a gift from my Sister-in-Law and Husband for my 50th Anniversary just celebrated this summer.

Of course.  The Holidays need Spode paper napkins.  Especially with dessert.
Very festive.

I hope you have enjoyed your evening with Santa.
It's a Joy to entertain you and please come back real soon.
