*Easter Parade*

Hello Everyone,
Brunch is served.  An unhurried and elegant spring brunch is one of the true pleasures of this time of year at
My Cozy Corner.
Although the occasion calls for fine china, the mood is light and informal. Playful icons of the season-bunnies, eggs and candy are among the place settings.
A grass centerpiece captures the thrill of the egg hunt in miniature.

The spring table is a cheerful mix of contrasts and embellishments.

My new bunnies from TM have hopped from the living room to the dining room.  First on the Mantel for the Mantelscape party, then to the Coffee table and now to our Easter Table
 My motto is
 "The value of a Dollar"
and thrift is my game.

Lots of eggs to hunt. If it rains we can hunt for Easter eggs in the house. LOL!!!

This tablescape is a very Thrifty Tablescape.

I bought the pink flowered salad plates at our church yard sale last year.

'Pink Perfection' camellia tree is still blooming, but the rain has discolored so many blooms I found just enough flowers to make the two bouquets for the table.

The clear plates are from a yard sale a few years ago. (.10 cents each x 12) what a deal.

White paper dollies from Michael's craft store and another DT clear plate underneath.

Cute clear tea cup and saucer called 'Fairmont' exclusively designed for Bella and produced by SOGA Japan.
I bought a box of six at TM for $2.49 and I have some fun ideas for these cups this summer under my new pergola.

This morning my sweetheart and went outside and to the end of our property and dug up the grass in the Easter basket. I didn't want to ruin my garden box, so I lined it with clear plastic wrap and one square shovel of grass fit into the box perfectly.

Candy is always welcome at Easter.

Candy Eggs for the girls (granddaughters) this Sunday.

'Pink Debutante' camellia is very slow to bloom and the rain has discolored most of the blooms. But I found a few to add to the bouquets.

The handmade napkin ring is just a piece of extra ribbon I had and I bought the bunnies at Michael's craft store.  I love bunnies...

A brand new Goodwill Store opened last week and I found these vintage glasses for .49 cents each.

Wishing you a Glorious Easter.
I will be joining some parties for the next few days

~Easter Brunch~

Hello Everyone,
I'm busy working on my Easter Tablescape for the parties going on later this week. But I love this table from last year and thought some of the newcomers to Blogland might like to see how blogging progresses as the years go by. Hope you enjoy
Easter Brunch - Very Casual
2011

I love to try new ideas.  Paper Plates and Paper Cups plus Paper Napkins.  Can I do this for my Easter Tablescape?  Yes! And it was so much fun too.  Does your family say "Don't go to so much work?" Well this year I did just that. I purchased paper products for brunch and for dessert. Actually it's looks very festive.  As they say "be careful what you wish for."  No dishes, but plenty of cooking for this old Grandma... LOL!

Now, lets have some fun looking at the Fanciful Easter decor.

I have the Granddaughter's little chick favors set by each place setting. And a bright yellow cup for Pink Lemonade.

If Sunday's weather is nice and sunny I would love to move our Easter Brunch to the Patio.  We have plenty of seating for everyone and it will be so refreshing to be outside after such a long winter.

Candy and Colored Eggs...
Mrs. Bunny is ready to hide the eggs.

Well, hello Mr. Bunny. I see some delicious candy and some colored eggs.
Mrs. Bunny is waiting for you to help her hide the Easter eggs for the Granddaughters.

I decided to bring the Three Tulips (Here) in from the garden and  picked the prettiest Iris and some fresh fern to use as a floral centerpiece.

Miss Bunny Radish is a salt shaker and she is so Cute....

This place setting is by 'Party Plates' very inexpensive.  Flatware is used outside all summer.

Mr. Bunny Carrot is a pepper shaker and he's so Cute...

I absolutely love flowers.  I look at each kind of flower and I'm never able to pick a favorite.  Flowers are truly Amazing~

Thank you so much for visiting My Cozy Corner

Tartan Parade*Scottish Food and Sights to See*

Hello Everyone,
I had so much fun putting together my
'Tartan Parade' post yesterday I thought I would add a little something more to show how much I love SCOTLAND AND TARTAN.

Last June I traveled to the island of Iona.  If you look on the map you will see the island of Mull and just across the channel is the island of Iona.  During the month of June the sun doesn't set until around 3:00 a.m. in the morning.  We were blessed with warm weather, but usually it is cold and windy.  Especially with water on all sides.

Now let's hop back to Edinburgh and enjoy more of  'Royal Mile' and see some of the sights.
Walkers is big deal in Scotland and when I stayed in a hotel Walkers shortbread biscuits were next to the tea pot and tea.

I now remember Sarah @ Hyacinths for the Soul commenting on the Walkers and Campbells cute containers I photographed.  I wanted to bring home some of the metal containers, but I was limited on luggage space. Now I think I could have mailed some things home.

Before going on my trip I did a post on Scotland.  I made three tartan hearts for my two traveling companions and one heart for me. I didn't know anything about tartan then...Wow what a lesson I received.

When we arrived on the Island of Iona the first thing we did was have tea on the lawn.
Three cups of tea for Three Ladies go Traveling.

The Cashmere and Lambswool comes from these Argyle sheep grazing  in the field on the island of Iona.
The land across the water is the Isle of Mull

This is a view from my hotel room overlooking the train station.  I love the architecture of the buildings in Edinburgh.

Indeed Scotland is Burns Country

A little treat we enjoyed while waiting for the ferry in Oben.

I love Shortbread cookies.

This Tea Table is my tribute to Scotland.

And to end our journey we will stop and see where
Robert Burns lived during his first visit to Edinburgh  in 1786.

Thank you so much for visiting My Cozy Corner.

~Tartan Parade~

Hello Everyone,
A Tartan Parade is going on over at
Hyacinths for the soul with Sarah.
Last June I had the privilege to visit Scotland. I'm going to share some of the beautiful clothing I saw while in Scotland.

The group I was traveling with stopped in Edinburgh overnight before going into England. In the late afternoon my traveling companion and I walked 'Royal Mile' and enjoyed the beautiful sights of the most wonderful city.
These are some of the clothing stores we saw.
I know all you ladies love clothes.
I know I do.

I love Tartan.  The colors are so fabulous.
A Tartan Pattern can be different colors depending on the purpose of the Dress.
Do you remember the movie
"Braveheart" 1995
'Wallace Clan'
Starring Mel Gibson-Won Best Picture Oscar

Wallace Red is my favorite
The tartan pattern dates back to 1842

'Wallace Green'
Wallace Hunting

Wallace Blue
Dated 1985

'Dundee Wallace'
Dated 1891

'Wallace Blue Dress(Dance)

'Wallace Dress-Black
Dated 1842

I wish I would have purchased more clothing, but I didn't have enough time to decide what I wanted to bring home.

Cashmere or Lambswool would be nice.
I love the sign...
since 1437
Made in Scotland

A clothing mosaic is the best way to see all the goodies in one place.
To see more of Scotland go Here.

Yes! I did buy my scarf and jimmy...
I love Scotland
Thanks to Sarah @ Hyacinths for the soul
for having a Tartan Party.
and
Little Red House for Mosaic Monday

A Big Thank you to my new followers
I hope you enjoy your visits to
My Cozy Corner
